I designed and built this custom CNC'd billet 7075 aluminum gauge cluster. I used a Fadal 4020 CNC vertical mill to carve the face of this panel. Everything else was done in a Bridgeport. The gauges are 1 1/2" Stewart Warner's with blue back-lights (which are no longer made). Tranny' temp and voltmeter (Boost gauge replaces the voltmeter in a supercharged SS). The sending unit threaded into the trans' pressure testing port in the top of the transmission, but really needs to be installed in the pan for a better reading.
The "double din" mount I started with.
The finished but unpainted assembly. The top of the line Pioneer 8800 deck fits into the top slot.
The new deck and the gauge panel installed showingthe blue 1 1/2" Stewart Warner voltmeter and trans' temp' gauges.

ELECTRICAL AND IN TRUNK MODS:
* Optima Yellow top battery.
* Monster cables and connections.
* Remote mount factory radio.
* XM tuner
* Sirius tuner mounted piggy-back on the XM tuner
* 110v, 300watt power inverter replacing the factory amp
* 110v outlet in the electricals corner
* 12v outlet, same place
* RCA input jacks, same place
* 1/8" aluminum framework to hold it all in place.
* Dyna_Mat sound deadener in the trunk
* Boots on 6x9 speakers
* 3" Ports in the window tray
* ZZPerformance 4130 chrome moly strut tower brace
* 1/2" plywood spare tire cover, black fabric covered
The 300w power inverter is mounted in the old factory amp location, under the window. and an aditional 110v outlet is in the pass' side of the front console.
The 12" JL Audio subwoofer. At this point, I prefer a box that I can remove easily. We like to travel. Suitcase room. The strut brace is a hinderance here, but the stiffness added was worth it.
I ported the rear window tray, and painted the speaker grills and ports matte black, and dyed the tray black. The child seat mounts and the third back seat-belt have been removed. It is now a 4-passenger car!
This is the Optima Yellow Top battery mounted behind the right wheelwell, and showing the Pioner XM tuner and Sirius tuner on the left. The factory radio is remote mounted in this corner in custom panel, for computer access. Wire is Monster. 110v, 300w & 12v outlets. RCA inputs there, but not mounted permanent yet. Structure is 1/8" alunimum angle stock. Dynamat is also there. See the next page for more.
The spare tire covers in these are cardboard. Suitcases broke the '01's cover, so I fabricated this one from 1/2" plywood, and it actually fits better than the factory cover. This is the bottom. Top is covered with black enclosure fabric (felt like).
Another pic of the amp, and the back of the 12" sub box.
FUTURE PLANS-WANT LIST
* F-Body big brake calipers, all ready purchased, and Hawk HPS pads. Hawk HPS pads are a given. They are the best. I have 85,000mi on this set, and they are only maybe half wore out!
Calipers and brackets are getting powder coated.
* Stainless braided brake lines front and back, all ready purchased
* Aluminum valve covers from ZZperformance.
* 1.84:1 roller rockers and heavier valve springs
* Intercooler for the supercharger. Probably a short stack from ZZ Performance. It doesn't interfere with the hood.
* ZZPerformance stainless "power Log" front manifold.
* Trunk lid liner with reflective "Intimidator SS".
* Trunk mat, of some kind.
* Tint the rear 3 windows. It is illegal in Michigan to tint the drivers and pass' doors. Three points on your license for violations, I know the hard way from my '95 Blazer.
* Aftermarket white headlights from PFYC.
* LED Tail lights, black, from Andy's.
* Rizzo or similar front air dam.
* Stainless headers and Magnaflow exhaust
* Bore & stroke to 4.1L
* Aluminum heads.
* 3.29 gears. That's what was in the '01. 2.93's are in there now. If the cradle ever comes out, 3.29's will go in!
* Black-out the visors, trip computer, and headliner. The trunk carpet and rear window tray has been dyed black.
* Suggestions?
