Yeah this is my first car. It's a 1994 subaru Justy that I bought from a dealer for $250. The engine had a knock and it needs a new muffler and some TLC but otherwise it's a little go-kart of a get-around-town car.

The engine is a 1.2L straight three which puts out 73 vicious, ass-grabbing horses. It's got a 5-speed manual transmission mated to the front wheels, with manual steering. I wouldn't have it any other way, unless it were rear wheel.

Right now there's nothing done except an 8-ball shift knob. I got some free speakers from my friend which I tried hooking up until i found out that there aren't any 6" speaker mounts in the car. I have two 3" in the dash, so it will need some modifying in order to get the good clear sound quality that I'm looking for. I also plan on a swooping spoiler that comes off of the rear, as well as a new paint job and some bodywork to get rid of the rust on the fenders.

So far, in all, with taxes, I've spent exactly $292.50 on this car. Not bad for a driveable hunk of metal that gets 45 mpg and costs $25 to fill the tank.

4/31/06- i recently bought a steering wheel cover, seat covers, and painted the center console red. here are some pictures.

7/31/06- i bought some fog lights and did a quick job of installing them, really ghetto looking, and my brother said i didn't install them right. so he took my dash apart and put them in. he got the lights working fine (they were workign before) but now my dash is in pieces, the parking lights come on for no reason when the battery is plugged in, and he refuses to fix it.
do me a favor, everyone. never let your brother touch your car. ever.

modded taillights? They are still stock - do yours look diffrent?
By the way, the 4WD Justy models all have a revmeter - perhaps you can get the whole speedo somewhere - only the cabling could get difficult. If you post a photo of the back of your speedo I will compare the cabling to the 4WD version. The redline is 6000 rpm.

Be sure to get a tach that allows you to set it to a 4 cylinder motor setting. Then set the redline to 4500rpm. Because nobody makes one for 3 cylinder motors, the 4 cylinder motor will be off by about 1000rpm when it reaches the 4500 mark, so you will be at 5500 when you need to shift. If you allow the motor to go anyhigher than that, you will risk breaking engine parts...and that's not to good.
