I have a 1989 Buick Lesabre T-type, one of approximately 16000 ever made. The T-type package included Gran Touring Suspension, Coupe Body, bucket seats, unique wheels, and blacked-out trim (styled after the Grand National). For more information, go to http://www.lesabret.com :)

This page is just to document the restoration of a great car from near-death to (hopefully) show quality. I've got "to-do" lists at the ends of most of my pages, and as I complete a task I have gone back and added in "[completed]" next to each item that I've done. I'm too lazy to document everything!

As for the nickname the "Black Pearl," it is a rather long story. A buddy of mine at work pokes fun at me (in jest) about how bad the car looks but how I'm trying to get it running right with a couple minor modifications. Its black, looks like its been through hell and back, but it does run pretty dang good...so if you are familiar with the ship of the same name in a certain movie with pirates in it, then you'll get the joke. My buddy said he'd make me a jolly rodger stencil so I can spray paint it on my hood (its not like it is going to hurt the paint job any!).

Bear with me on the crappy pictures. Most of the earlier pictures were from my cell phone but lately I've been using my brother's digital camera.

Nice find getting a rare car like that. I love seeing people put an almost-dead car back on the road! You going to repaint it black? New tail lights and interior cleanup sure look good! Hate to see the fender damage that happened when the wheel came off. That sucks but at least you didn't get hurt. My latest Century was in the junkyard when I found it, one step from the recycler's shredder. I realized it was a limited 84 Olympics edition and now it is my latest hotrod project!

Hey Eric man. Progress going backwards with the Black Pearl? Saw the lost wheel incident. Not nice. I got me another car - 1991 Nissan Skyline. It kinda met a tree... another damn car I gotta fix. Got some pix up. Come and have a laugh.
