Additional pics with details on how I did the V8 swap.
Passenger side frame rail is notched for the 1991? Mustang shorty header. The Drivers side was modified by the exhaust shop to clear the steering shaft. Notice the oil filter relocater has the fitting coming out the sides (90*). I found mine used, but places sell them specifically for Ford engine swaps..ie. James Duff and Advance Adapters. On a Ranger BroncoII V8 swap this is a must if you use the stock steering box.
I cut the core support up and pushed the 4.0L Explorer radiator forward about 3-4", so I could run a mechanical fan with a clutch.

This is the clearance of the double sump oil pan, I used a pan from some kind of 1984 Lincoln, I had to add a bung in the side to get a dip stick into the deep sump...my engine had the dip stick in the timing cover(filled the hole with a bearing ball, drove into it.
In retrospect, I think I would have been fine with the regular front sump car pan...but I was under the impression that it would not clear the engine cross-member.

My BII had a 5 spd from the factory...I put a Hybrid C4/C5 in it during the V8 swap...for some reason I had to modify the t-case linkage to move the mount hole 1/2 a hole.
This is the C4/C5 Hybrid and the 1350M t-case, ready to go in the hole.

This is my cheap-ass home-made solid motor mounts, they are the block side of Ford Granada 302 mounts and a piece of 1"X2" tube...kinda cobbled together.

This is what happens when your body mounts flex(worn out) and hit the heater box that is not notched out enough.
