Pics from when I purchased my 1997 Miata from a dealer in Arlington, TX on February 16, 2006. Had 92,600 miles and a few issues to be worked out... but I like having something to do. I wanted something with less than 100k on it, the paint/body to be in good condition, and really wanted black. There's a few dings and bruises here and there, but overall, not bad.
The Good: Lightweight (~11lbs) factory hollow spoke wheels, seems to have been taken care of (new belts, etc), it's a MIATA...
The Bad: Top needs to be replaced soon, needed new steering wheel, shocks needed replacing, paint needed some love, no cruise, no LSD, tires suck...
Sounds like a piece, but shocks/tires/etc were going to get swapped out regardless...
I've already done the anal thing and swapped out all the fluids for RedLine synthetics, oil is Mobil1, K+N drop in, new plugs/wires, coolant, etc. Changed out the brake pads for some Axxis Ultimates and bled through some new DOT 4 fluid. Anyway, that's the downlow...
