I bought this project in FEB 06 for $2200. It had been sitting under a tree for 2-3 years and was full of trash. It's got a rebuild 360 w/ 4500 miles, rebuilt tranny, paint, and interior in 02. It came with one bad ass winch, a good toolbox, rino sprayed bed, and some decent tires w/ less than 500miles on 'em. But, it came with a mess of wires all over the truck that really don't go to anything; which have led to plenty of electrical problems. Ah I love to throw money away. drumnaaron's 1983 Jeep J10 Honcho

Hi there and nice ride! I am looking for some info. I just found a 1979 Jeep J10 (black) in great shape body and motor wise. The interior is average condition for this year, and the trans needs a rebuild. No problem there b/c the guy is only asking $1500 for the truck and it has at least $600 of new rubber on the rims, and he cranked up the V-B and it roars. It sounds great! So I am going to buy the J10. My question is...How can I identify the correct size of the motor? The seller swears it is the original motor and he says it is a 307. He is not a Jeep guy and he just buys and sells trucks to turn a profit, so I have my doubts on what he is telling me about the motor. I do not see in any literature where Jeep used 307s in the J10s. It seems like an original 360 to me, but how can I be sure of this? It looks all original under the hood to me. Thanks for any tips any of you guys can share with me. When I get the J10, I will post pics. I am psyched to get this J 10! CJ
