I ordered a new tank for the wagon. This tank is advertised to fit "64 65 66 67 Chevelle Station Wagons and El Camino's". The Gas Fuel Tank is part number GM37E and is available for about $160.00 including shipping (EBAY). Because of the lack of availability of a tank that will supposedly fit my tempest I decided to gamble and order this tank. The pictures do not do well for comparison sake but they are dimensionally identical in every way that I can measure.

Now here are some pics of the sending unit. Notice that the filter is completely roted away.

I need help to determin if I need to order a sending unit for a '64 or '65 Chevy wagon. Again, there are not any part numbers available for a replacement for a '65 Pontiac Wagon. So, my Chevy wagon buddies need to chime in here....What year does this look like? Apparently the '64 and '65's are different.

Hey, Scott, nice to see you update your Tempest page again. Yes, the Cameo red with white top would look best on that sweet wagon. And don't try to make it a GTO wagon. Let it remain what it is...a nice Tempest Wagon. Regards and hope all's well with you there. Cheers!!! Check out Serino-Hot-Rod member page. He's got a 64 Tempest wagon as well as many other "enviable" rides. Nice guy too from Long Island, NY.

Scott: I'm considering the 65 wagon on ebay right now. Unfortunately it's been GTO-ized, but nothing too serious. A big issue for me is how to get the car from Staten Island to Vancouver Island, and buying it sight-unseen. How difficult has it been for you to get interior parts for your wagon? I'm looking at replacing door panels and hardware as well as headliner. Can you recommend a good shop? Thanks...
