I recently got an Equis 5" tachometer for christmas from my brother and i am installing my carriage works billet grille this week. Also i am fabricating a tough front bumper to take my kind of abuse. I am thinking of making a base of 1/8" steel and seeing where i can go from there. Possibly some diamond plate and of course 2 6" stainless pro comp lights.
I hit this foot deep puddle going almost 50 mph

This is my 1974 GMC Jimmy with the full convertible top. The rarest K5 bodystyle available, only made from 1973-1975. Me and my brother have been working on this tank non stop. He recenty bought a 1975 Chevy Blazer with a 6" lift on 35's as well. We share the same hobbies which works out great, we enjoy taking our trucks out and putting them to the limit. My truck has an injected 5.7L 350 HO. It has a custom flowmaster true dual exhaust system, new exhaust manifolds, new K&N air filter,Bosch Platinum Plugs and Accel wires. This truck is progressing every day and more pictures will be up. Some day down the road id like to paint it red with black stripes. The next additions to the engine will be dual electric fans to cool down the engine, a new hypertech or jet thermostat, and a throttle body spacer which i have not decided on the brand yet.
-The transmission is a 4L60E. It has a shiftkit to speed things up. This thing feels as solid as a rock.
-It is geared 4.56 front and rear, its running nothing less than detroit lockers front and rear, superwinch locking hubs, and the bulletproof NP205 1991 transfer case.
-As for the suspension i am running a 6" rancho lift with a 3" body. It is controlled by rancho 9000 shocks and rancho dual steering stabilizers. My tires are 38x15.50R15 Super Swamper TSL radials. They are wrapped around 15x10 eagle alloys.
-My stereo system is my most recent add on to the truck. My brother is awesome with electrical and stereos so he put in a new JVC head unit, Sony Xplod 6x9 speakers, and 2 Rockford Fosgate 15's. It will sound great when i get it all put together. My mounting kit is custom fabricated out of aluminum made by my brother. He did a hell of a job on that.
-My interior is completley gutted as of now. I have a 1/8" polyurethane liner custom built for the truck from LMC truck that was put in over the summer. I also got brand new door panels which look pretty sharp, also i purchased a carriage works billet grille. The interior was decently clean for its age, but the ugly baby blue door panels and top siding needed to go, and the carpet was shot. The seats are very comfortable and roomy, they just needed some covers for the stains so i added some black leather covers. I have a grant steering wheel as well. All the electrical works great and the gauges read right on. They are also from a 91'.
Well thats about it.. i took it through the mudpits close by my house and it glided through so easy it almost took the fun out of it. It was about 3 1/2- 4 feet of mud easy. I forgot that i didnt even lock the hubs and i was running in 2WD the whole time. I am looking forward to the beach and some tough trails.
This is my interior as of 4-15-06. The guy before me ducktaped a panel that fell out because of rust corrosion. So that will be TIG welded this week. Also i am fill in the floorboard holes with some clean welds. All the floorboard surface rust has been grinded down to near bare metal and treated with rust encapsulator.
Well as of tonight 4-17-06, i sanded the truck back down, just about the whole thing because my initial paint job didnt look quite up to par. Yes its just going to be a bad 4x4 trail rig, but its going to see mud, sand, rocks, and whatever else i throw at it so i want the paint to hold up. The crap i used before scraped off with a fingernail. You could also see the streaks and sanding marks from the course paper. So I used 300 grit to give it a smooth finish. My brother also welded the 2x2 panel that gave way from the rust. The idiot before me ducktaped the piece of metal to the floorboard and covered it with plywood.
This is an updated picture, he has the biggest F-150 in town.. Man that thing is great offroad..
A black white pic of my truck as of 5-2-06, the seats are getting put in today and it will be drivable very soon.
Another pic of his truck in my garage. Not into the yotas at all but that thing can crawl. He worked on it for months to get it where it is. Locked, 4:1 ratio, dual Tcases, 5.29 gears, Warn 8,000 ib winch, flat black paint, and Marlin Crawler springs.
Some pics of my truck 5-4-06 finally out of the garage.
Me by my truck right after finishing the cosmetics. I ordered the aluminum door sills from LMCtruck.com for $40 shipped. After that i will drill the passenger and rear seat holes, front roll bar holes, seat belt holes, and mount the transfer case shifter cover. Now i need a trip to the store for some leather seat covers, custom pedals, and i need to put on my door panels..
- I got in my door sills and they look tops. I would highly reccomend LMC truck. They are gorgeous and something i would use in a show truck.
I installed my driver door panel and it fits pretty decent. I do need to do some fabrication but it looks incredible. Now my only additions will be my stereo installation, my grille installation, and to finish up my door panels.
- As of 6-13-06, the roll bar is bolted down, the stereo is in, the seatbelts were just bolted in, and she was just taken over for $74 gasonline..
Well shes just about all done, i put some new black motorcycle leather seat covers, a new ignition lock, and pretty much finished the interior.
Heres a pic on 6-18-06 with the tires shined, she looks way to clean...
This is my truck at my shop 6-21-06.
