1978 LINCOLN Continental Town Car ================================= * at the time, the Town Car was an expensive option package based upon the already expensive Continental 4 door sedan, hence this was Lincoln's top-of-the-range 4 door model; the Town Car did NOT become a separate model until the 1980s. * all power options * leather interior * landau roof ! (rare) * aluminium wheels ! (rare) * 460 cid V8 * purchased : late 2005 * 12,901 original miles I finally have this car in my own buildings and have given her a thorough cleaning. These old images do NOT do the car justice. I hope to take some more in October 2007. Basically, this car looks almost brand new. I'm very, very pleased with her. This is the first of Hemichrysler's 70s cars, definitely a keeper. I hope to commence a collection of 70s luxury monsters as circumstances allow. Please take a look at the other vehicles in my virtual garage.

"the Town Car was an expensive option package based upon the already expensive Continental, hence this was Lincoln's top-of-the-range 4 door model" perhaps you could enlighten me...I thought all the 4-door lincolns from 1977-1979 were considered "continentals" how exactly do you differentiate between both models? thanks

Nice Town car. Glad to see it has been kept in original condition. Check out my 58 Chevy wagon sometime.
