I am starting my RB25DET swap soon. RB25DET-Z31's 1988 Nissan 300ZX I can't wait! Hoping to have it running by the woodward dream cruise.

Need some new wheels, To fit 275/35ZR18.RB25DET-Z31's 1988 Nissan 300ZX

Well I finished the rb swap long ago and decided it was about time for an update. A full tutorial of my problems and obstacles can be found at Z31Performance.com

I did finally find some new shoes.

They are mustang bullitt replicas. Fronts are 18x9 offset +24, Rears are 18x10 offset +22. I installed 245/40R18 cooper 2XS's up front, and 275/35R18 yokohama AVS sports in the rear. The wheels are a direct fit for non turbo Z31's. However with the tall profile of the front tires and the turbo front strut tubes there was a clearance issue. I installed a 8mm spacer so the tire clears the strut tube by about 2 mm.

Before I set the vehicle on the ground I installed a new set of Race springs with a 1" drop in the front and .5" in the rear. During the suspension upgrades I also installed some poly stuff to stiffen up the 20 year old worn out rubber pieces.

After a short drive to a local exhaust shop I noticed a huge power delivery difference. I had them make me a new 3" downpipe and full 3" exhaust with a magnaflow stainless steel muffler out back.

I also had the shop bend me some new intercooler piping from 2.5" stainless steel and mounted a new treadstone FMIC discreetly tucked behind the bumper.

I just purchased a black 88zx 2+2 with a recent paint job. The stock motor has decent power but I would like to know what kind of noticable power that you are getting out of this swap. What kind of vehicle did this engine come out of? Please give me some details on what it took to make this swap successful.
