Chewie3501's 1975 Pontiac Grand Prix

in front of detroit river, wyandotte mi, march 26, 2006 day of purchase

This car has a Pontiac 400 that was rebuilt by Jasper with class 2 perfomance parts, has lunati camshaft, flat top pistons, dual flowmaster 40 series exhaust, edelbrock 750 cfm 4 barrel carb, edelbrock pontiac performer intake manifold, high capacity air cleaner, heavy duty flexplate, and BM series 2400 rpm stall torque converter. The car is stock other than that. The axle is just the one wheel peel with a 2.56 ratio.

It has fairly good pick up for its size around 7 seconds. The 0-30 time for the car is atrocious, but after that it seems the cars front end wants to lift and it speeds up to 55 and once again slows for the shift and after 75 the car just takes off like a battering ram, the 3rd gear shift doesnt seem to make a difference at this point as momentum takes over. Note that this is before any upgrades except the exhaust have been put on.

My Dyno

I had the car dynoed before the rebuild and it had 185 horse and 312 torque. For a 31 year old car that wasnt bad, but i am currently waiting for the engine to get installed since the rebuild and was told by the engineers who rebuilt it that i would have close to 300 horse and around 450-500 pounds of torque.
