this is my 1971 super beetle that i got from my grandma for $800 (before disassembly). i took the struts off because i will be lowering it (by cutting down the springs) and replacing the strut cartridges.
The area behind the back seat was rusted out so i cut out the rust and fiber glassed it.
this is my dads dune buggy and it is the color i will be painting mine (competition orange)

i will be rebuilding the engine it only has 60 lbs of compression i did get it to barely run though.
i have also started the body work, it still has the origonal paint.

I just cut the springs (i took about a coil and a half off). I also repainted the front suspension, my parts have come in (strut cartridges) and i will have it back together with a picture soon
-finally got it updated although i have alot more to add

I got the suspension put back together. It has alot better stance than before. I finished the body work and took it to the shop to have it sprayed. It is single stage; although, i would like to clear coat it. Instead of the competion orange, I had them match the origional color (clementine) as close as they could. I took it home and sprayed the door jambs and interior myself.

this is to give you an idea of how ti sits with the springs cut. It currently has air shocks in the back, so it still sits a bit high, but i'll get to that later.
