1969 Windward Blue Firebird
This car sat unloved since 1989 in someones back yard. I bought it for $500, added clean fuel and it fired right up! Magine that....
Since then added a fresh 455 built by Liefort Automotive. Larry Liefort was/is? Paul Newman's personal crewchief. (if you can afford anybody & this is the guy you choose, I guess he's good enough for me)
Details on the block .030 over455, Crower Sportsman rods, TRW moly coated slugs, rotating assembly balanced by Billy the kid.
#96 Heads with new Ferea Ram Air length valves, hardened exhaust seats, Crower 916 cam 470* lift with around 225-228 duration (a little longer on the exhaust)
Behind that is a TCI flexplate connecting the TH-400 - which was rebuilt to factory specs by a local tranny shop, added a HD sprag & Switch Pitch converter 1400/300 from PAI Enterprises (actually a Buick guy)
Shortened the driveshaft to connect to a 3:42 posi, 2nd gen, 10 bolt rear.
