Ok, first and foremost I have to thank Cris for introducing me to the rotary world back around 1983. I've since then had my share of 2's, 3's and a couple of Rx7's. I had to sell my daily driver Rx-2 when the house I live in came up for sale. Some years later I was hungry for that rotary feeling again. Anybody that has ever owned or driven a rotary knows what I'm talking about. I bought this Rx-2 from a former co-worker who had bought it from the original owner. He started to do some work to the car but other projects he had going on forced him to put the Rx-2 to the side. He offered it to me for a $1,000.00 Being starved for another Rx-2 for over 5 years, how could I pass? Fast foward 2 years of work to the car and there it is. I decided to keep the exterior of the car original, so I went with the original gold paint and white vinyl top. I don't think the Mazda rally stripe was originaly on the car but hey, I liked it, so on it went(thanx Juan)!! The seats are from a 91-92 Toyota Paseo that was at a  wrecking yard as was the side view mirror and rear license plate lights. It has an 84 12A engine and transmission. I did install a Weber 45 DCOE carburator and a Racing Beat header, I also installed some rear disc brakes utilizing some brackets I purchased from REspeed mfg. I installed a rear sway bar as well. I found some Carroll Shelby wheels from local paper(recycler) I backyard sandblasted the mesh of the rim and painted them using a gold that Ford used on some of their 60's engines. (thanx mustang Lou.)The rims used a plastic decor push in allen bolt to give it that 2-piece look. I had my son tap the holes(20 p/rim) with a 5/16 tap and bolted in some stainless steel allen bolts. The same guy that sold me these Caroll Shelby wheels also sold me some other mag wheels aswell. Only problem is that he only had 3 of them. I've since found the fourth wheel so here it is with them too. I also restored the factory 13" steel wheels. THe burn-out at the local pepboys  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_WD8L4oUi4 NICE, recently found some still pictures of the Rx-2 that I had misplaced for quiet some time... PAGE 2. I recently removed the weber 45 and intake. I installed the originalpictrhound's 1973 Mazda RX-2 4 barrel carb set up, guess I'm getting rid of the sidedraft. Damn being 42 is starting to change some of my desires...
