I have had the 1964 Galaxie for about 8 years and finally had the time to start the restoration two years ago. The car was in much worse condition that I thought when the process was initiated.

We decided to do a frame off, rotisserie restoration. The car was orginally Wimbledon White
The frame was wire brushed and painted with POR-15 with new ss brake lines and fuel line. The engine and cruise-o-matic transmission were installed with the body off. The engine is the car's orginal 352 big block stroked to a 390.

Trunk pan, quarter panels, rocker panels and rear of front fenders had to be replaced.

Interior of car was removed with the exception of the dash and the color changed to dark toreador red so all door jams, etc. had to be repainted.

All glass was OK except the windshield, which was replaced. Front end and doors installed.

Car was painted and reassembled. Bumpers were rechromed, grill and headlight bezels refinished, all stainless trim refinished. Hood was 'shaved' and fender ornaments removed.
Installed tach, gauges, new carpet, seat covers, sill plates, door panels.

Had to install new headliner, interior light lenses and bezels.

Engine is the orginal 352 V8 stroked to 390 cubic inches, mild cam, rebuilt original Autolite carb, converted to electronic ignition.

New trunk liner and wheel well dividers; spare tire jack. All door, engine compartment, trunk and window seals, gaskets, bumpers were replaced.
BF Goodrich tires (255 rear/215 front) on Centerline wheels (7" rear/6" front).

The finished product.
