this is how my truck looked the first day i bought it.
This is my 1970 GMC C 2500 truck. this is my project while i'm in highschool. I bought this truck the summer before my sophmore year for $450.00. it was missing the drivers side door, the rockers were non existant, same with the cab corners. I had to get it in drivable condition before I could start having fun with it.
this is half way through my junior year. got a door and fixed the rockers and cab corners.
my buddy had a 78 1 ton frame with disk brakes and he let me take them off and they bolted right up to my frame. also took a coil and a half out of the spring.
this is how the truck looked at the end of my sophmore year.
uhho the motors out, whats going on. more to come.
I pulled the old tired 350 out to make way for my new 350. but much to my supprise the heads on my old motor were port and polised out to the max. (I wish I would of just rebuilt it)
Hers the new motor in the truck
the new motor is a 350 with flat top pistons, RV cam, bored .30 over. high volume oil pump. I reused my old headers. toped it of with a summit manifold, holly 750 carb, (theres a reson for going so big, future plans). also went with accle wires, point conversion kit, and coil. went with a set of flow tech race mufers with caps built in them and 2 1/4 exauhst. also went through the transmision a th 350 and rebuilt it and put in a B&m trans pak. now it has snap your neck shifting and i love it.
this is how the truck looked after doing a spring under on the rear to levle out the truck again. also i shaved the sidemarker lights and antena. more body mods to come.
also while i had the rear end out i put a posi with 4.11 gears in it.
this is how the interior stands right now
ground all the rust out of the floors and por 15 it.
i found an original radio that still worked for the truck. am's the only way to roll.
got a sunpro tach for it. all the orginal gauges still work.
there was a few holes in the bed but i ground the rust out and lined it.
got new wheels and tires for the truck. 9.5 by 30in on 16.5 by 8.75 up front, on the rear 29 by 10 wide on 16.5 by 8.75.
view of the front of the truck.
sprayed the interior of the truck the same as extrior. also i added the bucket seats.
pulled the gauges too and went through them and cleaned them up.
i sprayed the door panels and glove box a grey color.
