Engine Mods/Repairs8-11-04 MORE engine pics. From the rebuildNew Engine Pics! MUCH BETTER!! And a stick shift now!!1-8-04Shadow is down for the winter. And I mean down. The engine and trans was pulled out a few weeks ago. The engine block and heads are being sent in to be redone. I'm just building it back to stock specs, as I am way to poor to get the high-end internals, like forged pistons and such. That will be donw later on down the road when i get out of school, you know. For now this will do. The heads had leaky intake valves, and some weird gash in the intake ports. I'm not sure if that was normal, but the cylinder head guys will tell me if i need new heads, so I'm not worried. I guess. I am nervous about having the car town all to pieces, but it needed to be done. Poor thing kept the oil buisness happy. haha. yea. Oh, and I'm also swapping in a manual transmission. Byebye automatic! I'll get pics fo the pieces soon. Old stuffI have done a few modifications, as well as repairs. ;) The car had one nasty oil leak that just turned out to be the valve cover gaskets. Good news for me! Then after i replaced those and the radiator hoses and the thermostat, i added in a cold air induction system. (9-24-02) So I got some new things for the shadow. One is this muffler...makes my car sound like a v8.. oooooo. (11-10-02) The Shadow has gone in and out of surgery lately. Mind you, I am new at this car stuff, so it takes me longer to do things. Anyways, the water pump died and was replaced. Boy, now THAT was fun! I could do that with my eyes closed now. What else... oh yea, the valve cover gaskets and camseals were done again. Cam seals really like where they are and hate to come out. (I have progressed from battery removal..promise)(Also in November) Oil pan gasket was replaced. Car is dry as a desert now. Muhahahahaha. Randy is a great guy. He took me under his wing and showed my the ways of how cars work and working on them. This is him laughing about how oil dripped in his eye from my oil pan....errrr...Later!!
