i had my eye on this jeep for years and after it survived a barn fire i bought it for a song and dance.the drivetrain had some damage so i gave it to a MVPA friend in trade for advice and small parts. he was upset that i was dividing the jeep up but i swore to him id have twice the jeep for half the money. so far i have a few hundred dollars in it and a s*%t ton of time. more of a project than a ride. so far, all i've built is a shackle reversal/crossmember. used dana 44's off an 79 ih scout II, and managed to do a spring over using wrangler springs and i will mount them on an outboard kit that im working on. not the most creative set up but a dependable and doable one. coilovers when i get older, right?. cant decide on a drivetrain combo but will be a pass side drop. want to avoid any costly conversion parts unless absolutly necessary. thinking 4.3 or sbc and an sm420. any suggestioins. wheelbase will be somwhere around 90 in.
