New plans for 2009 - updates will come in the next few months.
As of 8/2008 I have a mint condition Alpine CDA-7930 to match the same year ERA-G320. A CHA-1214 is mounted along side an aperiodic enclosure for the Type-R in the trunk with the G320 brain and an Alpine 3672 crossover. A pair of Xtant 403A amplifiers run everything. There are even bass shakers under the front seats.
I mounted my Type-X tweeters in my A-pillar. Really improved sound quality and made my highs much smoother.
Running a new Alpine Type-R 12 sealed into my cabin in an aperiodic enclosure.
Gotta love Xtant amplification
My latest addition is an Alpine 3672 active dividing network. This has 4 channel in and 6 channel out. 3-way active section, 2-way active section, and sub section. It is on a custom mount in front of the ERA-G320 brain. The wiring in this pic isn't finished.
And a shot of everything up front.
Purchased in 2005 with 95k mi.
EX V6 VTEC J30A1 Engine
New timing belt and water pump (just cuz we were in there) at 115k.
Comming Soon:
*Custom LED's to replace all dash and courtesy factory bulbs and to line the interior. I just picked up 100 RGB 4-pin LED's. So now I can have whatever color I want.
*Fog Lights - factory with switch
*AEM Intake - tell me, is it worth it?
Additions:
*Honda Factory Bra
*10% Reflective Window Tinting (all 5 windows)
*Modified Stock Headlights - see page 4.
*I also switch between a set of Angel Eye Headlights - with a custom time delay circuit for the LED "Halo" rings. Turns on with flash from parking lights when I arm/disarm my car - stay on for 3:15 minutes. Looks great at night sitting in a parking lot or driveway. Really turns heads.
*TYC Tail lights
*Stainless Steel Exhaust Tips (they look better than nothing)
*Tinted rear license plate cover (no front plate)
*New arm rest and console cover (they were worn and replaced with factory pieces - i made the dealer pay for that!)
*New floor mats - not your cheap carpet either. Thick, black, grooved rubber - $25 a piece.
Mechanical:
*New tires - BF Goodrich Traction T/A - amazing tires
*Transmission flush, Cooling system flush, Brake system flush, Power steering flush, etc. at 100k mi.
*Pads and Rotors
*Timing belt and water pump at 115k mi.
I'm still playing with the front end configuration. let me know which you like the best; bra or no bra, projectors or modded stock.
Also, for those of you looking to try this, here is how the look will change between stock headlights, black out stock headlights, and angel eye projector headlights.
I've never had a bra before. I'm not worried about the section on the bumper since it's urethane. But I regularly remove and clean the hood section and on the front quarter panels. I was thinking about modifying the bumper but this gives me the different look I wanted. Besides, ground effects are impractical in my area with the roads. It's just not worth it.
The power plants. A great engine with great stock performance. Just a little tweaking, some intake and exhaust mods, and I'll be happy. The Optima Red Top is the only battery I'll run with a system. If you are wondering what they are all for: (2) 4 awg ground from battery to frame, 4 awg ground from block to frame. 10 awg power for HU, 4 awg power for amplifiers 10 awg power for trunk processor power, and all factory connections on top.
before the upgrade that weak piece of 8 awg is what bonds the block to the frame and the block grounds the alternator.
before on left, after on right.
With my system at 3/4 volume i'm reading 14.5V at my amps (car idling).
I really like having the crossovers in my glove box. easy to get to since they have a lot of adjustments and they look slick too! since i lock my glove box they are secure..
I replaced the front speakers with Alpine Type-X SPX-117R.
I'm also getting the whole rear redone - see page 2!
***OLD SYSTEM BEFORE JUNE 2007***
I had put in a new Alpine CDA-9851 and Clarion EQS746 to handle the front end. The factory changer was good but this is way better. Plus I get integrated Sirius controls and MP3 capability. I had to customize the supports for the EQ and CD player though. So i fabricated some out of steel, not too pretty but functional. With both units wired to the factory wiring adapter the result is pretty neat. I love the dash kit. The EQ pocket was a bit small so I had to dremel it out a bit. The end result is much better than I had hoped. I really like it.
I love working with vinyl, even though it doesn't hide mistakes. I have another 403A that I am putting in. I also removed the fold-down divider in the back seat. Now when the arm rest is down you can see the Xtant, even from outside the car. The 10's sound fine, but I need to build a box that looks better and finishes off the trunk better. I'll probably vinyl the entire trunk. However, I must maintain access to the spare and full functionality of the car. This isn't a show car or anything. I just want something that sounds good and is a bit different that the crap around here.
The tail lights were also an excellent improvement. They came with a second cover that is ready for paint. I have tried them all faux carbon, all black, and now the centers silver to match and the outsides faux carbon.
This pic doesn't do them justice. They look so freakin' good at night. Currently the lower part of the outside lights only comes on with the turn signal and the brake light. I turned the hazards on in this pic. I'll need to get a different socket and bulb that does both parking lights and brake/turn signal for the lower portion.

This was the car when I got it.
Sure, I could go out an buy a ground effects kit and destroy it on the fucked up roads and high driveways in the Quad Cities. Or I could dump a bunch of money in the car to make it barely faster, but I've been fast, and fast with a V6 isn't the same as fast with a small block V8 (see the soulmachine). This car rides great and is as fast as I need. I've got too much to lose to race kids on the streets. I do my racing nowadays in Need For Speed - Most Wanted. And sure, I could put some rims on the car and look a bit flashier, but the cost of great rims is out-weighed by their importance. I'd spend my money on the sound system in this car or my 2002 camry (see below), or my house before i'd spend money on ground effects and rims. Not that I don't think they look good, I just believe that you don't get to enjoy them. They are for others to enjoy since you don't see them when your driving your car. And I have better things to do than stare at my car in the driveway.
To those of you that have body mods, congratulations. I know it was a lot of money and time and work and a pain in your ass driving around and avoiding parking curbs. There are a lot of accords on here that look great. I may do some 17" wheels in the future. My personal feeling are that rims are a delicate selection. Bigger is not always better. 20's on a car made for 15's can look pretty fucking stupid if you're not careful. And more chrome is rarely the answer (i'm talking about the damn near solid chrome wheels here, not chrome in general). I've always like 5-spokes, and I believe they look great on muscle cars. The wheels on this Camry are pretty slick too. Maybe someday I'll think about some wheels and some lips but for now it's fine. I am not trying to have the hottest ride on car domain or the street. Wheel covers are nothing to brag about and the $20 covers at Walmart may look better than stock, but you still look stupid. But to each their own. Enjoy your car and don't worry about what other people think, cuz fuck 'em. It's not their car, is it?
I have also been louder. This was directly responsible for permanent hearing loss. not so cool when you get older. but it was pretty fun then! And as a result my city now can impound your car for 3 days and fine you $500 for a loud stereo! I know the compaints raised by that car were one of the reasons my town adopted that rule.
