Meet Juliette, my girlfriend's 1990 Marner Blue Miata. She bought her in mid-2005 as cheap-and-fun basic transportation...
...But that didn't last long. First she traded her ratty black top for a classy white one with a glass window:
Then we grabbed some masking tape to test some stripe designs, and ordered some vinyl...
And gave Juliette her stripes.
We also detailed Juliette's engine bay, by painting most of her engine blue (Turns out Old Ford Blue engine paint is a very close match to Mariner Blue!) I also have a habit of creating scale replicas of Juliette (so far, one in 1:24, one in 1:87, and one slot car!) I've also manufactured a custom center console with a Cobra style shift ring.
Juliette also has a custom exhaust setup that allows the spare tire to hang under the car. The exhaust done by Dynamic Muffler in Palm Bay, FL, I fabricated the spare hanger.
Other Miatas are jealous, it seems everywhere Juliette goes, shes surrounded by angry mobs of plain, boring red ones.
Sometimes Jealousy will drive evil red Miata drivers to physical violence!
But I am undefeated in Miata Combat!
Red Miata drivers are jealous too, because they don't look this good with their cars...
Just recently, Juliette got a hardtop (and it came with a free Miata ) and got repainted with a fresh coat of Mariner Blue, had her vinyl stripes PAINTED on, and three coats of clear for good measure.
Juliette is a daily driver, so mostly I just do maintenance, although when time and money permit, shes going to have a Hard Dog Deuce roll bar, and maybe leather seats. Eventually, Juliette may see some cones at the SCCA autocross, although her driver might spend some seat time first in my autoX prepped 1991 BRG Miata #3716 of 4000.
