Heya all, got the car on the road then had to do a clutch, and decided to do the rear struts finally. Turned into quite the adventure. The 2 forward strut bolts snapped, so had to drill them out. Here's a pic of a near-perfect drilled out grade 8 bolt.
P.S. Genshammer, thx for the tip, I'll do that.
bratman86, check online with Lithia Subaru in Oregon City, Oregon; they have been able to get me parts that every other dealer said were no longer available.
Hey nice Subie!! You should check out MySubie.com. It's a new Subaru social network w/ tools to help enthusiasts find parts, reviews, mods, pics, events, and more. Let me know what you think.
Yes, got new struts in the front, breaks and lift blocks thanks to a good friend of mine who did most of the work (I'm too weak most of the time these days)but soon I should be driving it! Ans to answer some previous Q's it's got on-road tires that I trade out for the ATV tires when I go 'wheel'n
Hahaha, God I love it! Kickass man. I got an old 85 4Runner rockcrawler. Saw a few trailworthy Subies at the Rubicon one time, made me jealous! Just for kicks, you should enter that beast in this contest - www.texacocarofthedecades.com - such a cool and unique ride. Have fun with it man!
