HAUNTED STREAM
This is a picture of my old 1984 60 Series Landcruiser which I sold about a year ago. Gees she was a tough truck! This was taken on a trip to the Haunted Stream in the Victoria High Country. We had been progressing up a fairly steep and slippery climb with the weather coming in pretty quickly...were looking for somewhere to camp. We crested the hill and heard a dragging sound...we found this tree trunk wedged under the car! This is a picture of my brother in law and his 45 series Troop Carrier (Troopy). He is going to trade it in soon for a 90 series Prado. Another picture of the 60. She was fairly modified like the disco with OME suspension (3 inch lift), snorkel, extractors, lights, radio, draw setup in the back etc etc... My brother in law finishing a steep climb. We had been pushing up a really narrow overgrown track which we worked out later was for dirt bike...lol. So we decided to cut back across to the main road...only problem was the BIG drainage ditch! Next picture...it was slow going... Cleared it no problem though... Brother in laws turn...bit harder for him because of his long wheel base and over hang. He actually ended up banging his rear step pretty hard and bent it...nothing a small sledge hammer wont fix! This was a fairly decent water crossing...pays to have a snorkel fitted. My girlfriend Tanya is driving in this picture! She was nicknamed Rambo on our 4wd driver training course! lol Coming down to another water crossing of the Haunted Stream...one of about 52 crossings! Posing in the creek...this is actually a nice photo of the 60. My dad in his 3L Turbo diesel Nissan Patrol. He pretty much has everything on this thing. Recently fitted a winch. This was a difficult climb. No rock on the slope, just dark wet mud! Took quite a few go's. Had to stop for lunch after everyone got up.
