Project UK KLZE Project

Well had the car for nearly 2 years now, i originally brought it as a cheap run around just to get me to work. But it wasnt long before i started to really enjoy driving it. Then i stumbled across mx-3.com and the ideas and modifications started !!!!!.

Completely standard 1.8 V6, before i got the mod bug !!

A few months after i brought it i realised the suspension was knackered, so first step was to completely replace it with a full bilstein setup, and lowering springs

Then a year and half into owning it, i decided it was time to get some decent bhp behind it, as i was seeing t-diesels easily keeping up. So here it is a mazda 2.5 V6 200bhp KLZE.
At the moment there are only 2 other mx-3s that have had this engine conversion. It really makes a difference and has been worth every penny !!.

To compliment the engine I have added, mazdaspeed engine mounts, fidenza flywheel, a blitz mitsubishi evo air filter, blitz oil filter, custom made magnecor leads, KL-36 ecu, CM clutchmasters clutch, battery relocation. I also had the intake manifold polished, and re badged.

On the interior side, i have added custom dials. I did have a big sound system but i decided to take it out, all that added weight will just slow it down !!. So im back to sony head unit, and infinity speakers in place of OEM spec. And cobra full closure alarm system.

Exterior, so far i have tinted the rear lights, and added mazda 6 clear side indicators.

The most recent addition are the 17 inch Bk racing alloys. ( a bit more added weight, but these do have a purpose, see future plans.

future plans

Brakes; a big brake upgrade is also t.b.a
Megasquirt engine management system.
Steering wheel; removal of dull existing one
Suspension, rear strut brace, and srd components.
Interior, full custom re-trim
Exterior, Custom front bumper, side skirts, mazdaspeed rear spoiler, re-spray.

well the first 2 will definately happen soon, the others are long term plans.

Big thanks to all the guys at mx-3.com and mx6.com, and guys at www.trac.art.com Also check out www.japshowcarz.co.uk
