This is my 1975 Mustang II. The car was bought new in 1975 by my grandmother and I can still remember the day she brought it home. When I got the car in 1996 I wanted to keep the stock look but, add more performance.I still have the sales info and all the paper work from the dealership. In the begining of the restomod it was not easy to get parts for it.
Over the years I have found some very usefull websites(www.mustangii.net). I still have a lot more work ahead of me, but the interrior is almost complete. Just looking for a few more things.
The moter is a 302 V8 from a 1969 Mustang and has been professionaly built. The original motor was a 302 but somehow I cracked the #8 cylinder and this was the closest I could find to factory.
What powers my 75 II:
- 69 302 Block .040 over (9.5:1)
- Edelbrock 600 cfm Carberator
- Edelbrock Performer intake
- Edelbrock Elite aluminum valve covers
- Competition Cam "Extreme Energy"
- K&N air filter
- K&N x-stream lid
- MSD pro billit dist
- MSD 6A Ignition and Coil
- Ford Racing 9mm wires
- Spintech Sportsman Street Mufflers
- Custom 2 1/4" dual Exhaust with H-Pipe
I am in the process of repainting the firewall and fender wells and doing some more detailing to the engine compartment.
I have replaced the factory gauges with Auto Meter sport comp gauges. Auto Meter 3 3/8 Speedometer and Tach. Auto Meter 2 5/8 fuel press, oil press, water temp, volt and fuel level. On the pillar thers is a 2 5/8 oil press and on the cowl there is a 2 5/8 fuel press. gauge. I also have the edelbrock air/fuel meter. The factory steering wheel was changed over to a Grant aluminum steering wheel.
I decided on the sport comp because of the pointers and the silver ring. Most of the chrome on the dash had pealed so I changed everything over to silver.
The dash was painted black and the chrome was changed to silver.
These are the back seats. The interrior was white, but hard to keep clean and some parts of it were bad shape so I dyed the vynil in black. I am still looking for black front seats from a 75, but for now seat covers will do.
The trunk area was covered in Ford grey trunk material and the amps were added. One powers mid's and hi's and the other is for the 10" Rockford sub. I has also replaced the factory carpet with new carpet from mustangsunlimited.com.
I have also added a cobra II scoop that will be functional and a front spoiler.
Cooper Cobra Radial GT On Stock Aluminum Lace Wheels. The wheels are from a 1977 Mustang II that were painted white. I stripped and polished them.
I added the 302 to the scoop so people would know that it has a V8. For some reason everyone thinks it is a four or six cylinder when they see it. Even though it has the factory V8 badge on the front fenders. 1975 was the year they put the V8 back in the Mustang II as an option.
There is more to do so I will add photos as I finish sections of the car until then I need to get back to work.
