Here is the ultimate time sucker! I have been building this for 3 years now, I bought it (its parts) in rough shape. The story goes....
May 15th 2003
Pack up and bring home assembled 1969 351 windsor short block and heads, the OE 3speed and Dana 20 transfercase. Thought I would replace the leaking gaskets so I pulled it apart and checked the rod bearings. Woah!!! three different colors (not good) so I check the mains as well. Ok, so I need new rods and mains. Amazingly enough, the micrometer reads in spec!!! So I install new bearings and gaskets. I assembled the engine, new clutch, transmission and transfercase. I spent some time to clean it up and paint it all a nice FoMoCo Blue

Drag home the disassembled frame (with axles and suspention) after who knows how many hours scrubbing and applying 'por 15' to all parts the eye can see, I also paint it all semi-gloss black. Time to install the powertrain! In goes the engine, trans, case assembly, the driveshafts, hmmmm the image of a truck!

The other body.... wow, what a heap, still on the frame, a 302 with a hole in the oilpan, the trans (loose of the engine) and another Dana 20. So after I peel the body off the frame, I notice there is alot more rust then I thought, (at least I didn't pay extra here) top the 'new ' frame with the old body.
Order some duff floor boards, grind and weld, grind and weld, grind and weld, oh! the front inner fenders too, grind and weld, grind and weld, grind and weld etc... Here its together in basicly a week. (a Long week in the shop)
A used Trac-loc limited slip front differential to replaced the previously welded diff. (I want to drive on the streets) An OE Ford 9 inch equal-lock rear posi is waiting to go in replacing the other welded diff.
I went with the 2wd F150 power steering swap using a wild horses bracket. I built a new drag link to stop bump steer, drives great even at 80mph! No bump steer and no death wobble!!!!
Since then...
Did front disc brake conversion using Chevy k10 backing plates and calipers, 1973 small bearing chevy spindles, new timkin bearings and Ford brake rotors.
I built some tube doors for it...
with the stock hinges & recognize
the tire carrier?
Here are some breaking it in shots....

Had some 33-12.50-15 Firestones laying around.... looked cool but the were really bad on the road...
and I spray bombed it!!! Turned out okay for a tree scrubber :) but the tires were getting the best of me...
so I used the 235-85-16 from the jeep &
with some newer dodge van 16" steel wheels....
it has some flex...
very slinkyish.... I like it :) all fours still touching and still uncut fenders (the way they look best!
down by the river....
with my beautiful daughter....
I used a 1988 TransAm floor mounted parking brake assembly..
& 1994 Olds Bravada seats and I rebuilt the rear seat using marine vinyl....
Jan 2009 Ok, I lost track of time! Axles are done, and I have been on and off road with it now for 3 or 4 years while playing with other toys. I pulled the top off to put in some patch's where it mounts to the windshield (sick of the leaks on my knees) I have started replacing the driver side rocker panel. I am also rewelding and cleaning up some of my early (yuck) work. I have the interior now stripped out to seal and paint it all.
Oh! and the swampers came in....
34-10.50-15.
I'll get some action shots this spring.
