The Sleepin Demon
New--- Almost done with the door panels... White to blue fade...

AvanteXDFreak's 2001 Hyundai Elantra

NEW--- I just installed my shark racing stg1 slipplate and flywheel... God I love that damn website... and elantra owners say... AMEN!

I have an '01 Elantra. It is actually a very nice car. Stock, it would still creep up on a few civics, neons and focus. Right now I am redoing the interior. I have stripped out the door panels and everything else heavy. I have gutted the trunk, removed the engine cover, and on occasion I remove the rear seats. As far as the engine goes, I've removed the air box and rehosed the intake to open where the fog lights should be, in the bumper. Since I work at Ballard's Transmission I took apart my tranny and rebuilt it with exile racing titanium gears (thanks to a five finger discount in the shop's store room). I also "found Shark Racing front and rear sway bars... they make a big difference. My new tires are Falken. As you can prolly tell by the pics, theyre a lot lower of a profile than the stock ones. I think they look alright, other people disagree. I have also bought 4 universal fender flares, universal side skirts, and a Honda civic type S front and rear lip set. I plan on installing all of this as soon as my freind gets back from vacation. I live in a Condo with strict rules about working on your car in the parking lot. And beleive me they are dicks about it, even when I sneaked out at 1 in the morning to install my sway bars. I was wondering though... if anyone out there has any advice for me... I cannot decide how to spend my income tax return. I found an Australian company that sells a supercharger for the 2.0L beta engine, or should I get a Shark Racing stage 1 turbo kit? They both cost about the same amount, but which would be mor reliable?
Thanks... come back soon... will have more...

Are cops really that lazy around here?
They have to use cameras to give you a ticket...
Word of advice... dont do 68mph on Central Ave in D.C...

This is what i am modeling my car after. It' simple. No body kit, just slight modifications that keep the beauty of the car. People think I'm crazy, but, I bought this car brand new. I chose it over the civic, and the used 98 maxima my friend was trying to sell me. All my friends say this car is an ugly peice of korean shit... But I fell in love with it... thats why I'm an AvanteXDfreak!!!!!!

hey bruh, go for a V6 swap for a 2.7litre tibby motor , balance it and supercharge it. Im working towards somethong similar with my ride, its the best way to go. A friend of mine had a Accent and we put the 2.0 Elantra motor in it with a Garrett blower, unfortunately it met with a bender at 55mph around 90 kph into a race barrier oops! But the big motor small car option works best just look at the clio and r32 Golf!
Peace out!

Sorry, I don't street race or race on the beltways. Find a road course we can legally race on, and I might consider it. VIR and Summit Point are two nice tracks.

Your Elantra has tons of potential. Keep it clean and simple.
