The story behind my scooby.
It all started back in 2004 when I decided I wanted to buy another sports car. The options were a Honda S2000 or a BMW 325i Coupe'. As i was hunting around from one dealer to another a friend of mine happened to mention this WRX Subaru Impreza. To be honest i wasn't really after one of them but i decided i'd have a look at it just the same. I kept asking my friend if it was a two door version (Sti) but he wasn't sure. As i got to this dealers' place he took us into this huge garage & there was this blue 4 door saloon car with nothing special or exciting about it. My first impression was that it's a dull car, nothing sporty, no Big rear spoiler, no gold alloys or anything except for some bonnet vents which at that time I didn't even know why they were there. I approached the rear of the car and saw this huge 4 & 1/2 inch back box & so i bent down to have a good look underneath the car. I saw an awesome 3 inch stainless steel exhaust system & suddenly things started to get an interesting turn. One of the garage attendands turned the engine on and with a loud, lion like roar the car came to life! After i heard this deep, low boxer engine note i was easily convinced to take it for a test drive. Well, as soon as i got behind the wheel & drove off, the car handled like something i had never experienced before, sharp steering response & very stiff ride, impressive braking power & most of all the awesome acceleration from a virtually small 2 litre turbo engine! It came pre-fitted with a sports pedal shift & you could feel the power kick-in through all the gears including 5th. That was it, I bought it on 23/03/2004. I know you might say it's an old 1995 model but I think for such a low price, it's the best bargain you can get. Nowadays I can say i know quite a lot about scoobies and my 95 model is the closest to the rally version ever built (after the Sti's & type RA). It is a rally-bred car. As you will see there's not much left of the original engine components in my car, but after all, anyone who buys a wrx is on the way to start modding forever..............
