I was really excited when the buzz of the new 2005 Mustang was going around. I had seen a small forum at that time called The Mustang Source (Brad Barnett). I joined in and started to learn more and more about the up coming 2005 Mustang. At this point I knew I had to have one of these.

I had been talking about the car to my wife, parents, friends and anyone else I could find until they were sick of me. I think that was common to most of the Mustang enthusists at that time. I went down to visit my parents one weekend to receive a surprise. My Step-dad is a car buff and has had his share of muscle cars in his day. He and my mom had decided to give me a gift of all gifts. At first they started to ask me general questions to get more info about the car, then they started to talk about price. To finish the conversation, my step-dad had said they would give me $25,000 towards the car and I would pay the rest. This was going to be my birthday, Christmas, Easter, and every other gift for the rest of my life. I wish I could have seen the look on my face when my jaw hit the floor.

As soon as I returned home the next day I went to a local dealer. On July 21, 2004, I ordered the car I wanted. I kept in contact with the dealer often to finally get the DORA and a VIN number. Well, finally in mid October, the dealer came forth with the truth. He did not have any allocations for me. WHAT A JERK!! I was extremely ticked that he had waited that long to tell me this. So I called EVERY dealer within a 50 mile radius. I found one about 25 miles away. The salesman said he had one on order that was everything I wanted except color. He said he will call to see if he can change the color. So he did and the order was already so far along, the car was due within a few weeks. Fortunately for the salesman, he went on vacation just after this. So I had no chance of calling every day to bug him.

I even got to use an X-Plan thru this dealer. That made things great. No outrageous dealer markup, or haggling necessary. But, I needed my step-dad there to sign the paper work since it was his x-plan. The problem is he lives 8 hours away. I was talking with the dealer to see what we could do. He said he will work something out. A couple days before the car came in, he called and said he got a local X-Plan number. So I did not need my step-dad to make the long journey.

So on November 18, 2004, I got the call. I got the call at 9:30am while I was at work. I was useless at work now. I talked to my boss to see if I could take an extended lunch and he agreed. So I drove out and picked up my baby. While at the dealer, signing paperwork, I had a ton of people come up to me. I thought it was cool to get that much attention and I haven't even left the lot yet.

They hid her around back, but they still had people asking about her.

And here is my Pony next to my T-Bird. They only wanted to give me $800 for the T-Bird. So I kept her and use her as a daily driver. It is nice to have two cars. And both are paid off. Plus it helps on insurance.

Later that night when I finally got home, my wife decided to see how much trunk room there was.

Sure enough, the car got attention EVERYWHERE! I loved it though.

Looking good! I like the black spoiler. You're doing well on keeping a consistant theme. Please swing by and rate my LLG 05. Thanks!

Wow man, i love those rear window replacements, but i have a question... where can i find a sequential signaling kit? i dont owna mustang anymore, but i have some ideas for it i would like to use it for with my current ride... how big is the kit? is it in the trunk alone? or does it go all the way to the signal switch?
