In 1991 Acura (Honda) created a Japanese designed and built exotic dubbed the NSX. The car initially came with a 270HP 3.0 liter engine but that was expanded in 1997 to 3.2 liter with 292HP. Pretty tame by today's standards of 400+ HP cars but impressive for its time.
All 7500 NXS's that were sold here were hand built, featuring aluminum bodies over an work of art aluminum suspension. The lightness of the car makes up for the relative lack of power and handling is astonishing.
I've always wanted an NSX, they were just too expensive and too few nice examples for sale. That changed when I found this car for sale locally:
It is a 38K miles example with all service up to date including the hyper expensive timing belt/water pump job. It will be used as an occasional cruiser and to attend NSX club meetings.
Have I deserted the Miata world? Not on your life. The Miata still represents the absolute best value for your money when it comes to handling, performance and affordability. The NSX represents something that you don't see a lot of, that rewards it's owner with handling that is directly connected to the driver.
