When you wash the vehicle try to wash it in the shade, get a good lather going and use a wash mit, NO BRUSHES THEY SCRATCH THE PAINT. Use one hand to wash and one hand to feel the paint it may feel like sand on the paint. It's actually Railroad dust, your car is kept in a warehouse with traines comming in and out, hot ambers from the brakes land on the car and "burn" into the paint. Use a quality clay bar to lift the ambers out, wash with one hand and clay with the other. Whatever you do don't drop the clay on the ground, it is then ruined and have to throw it away. Some brands are expensive, so treat it like gold, remember you get what you pay for! You can now move to the tires and wheels. When you washed the car you should have also cleaned the wheels as well as the tires with some rim and tire cleaner, be sure you read the directions carefully, I need not explain if you read the directions. Be sure to shine the chrome and get the brake dust off off those expensive fancy pieces of alloys!! Don't shine the tires up yet. When detailing the overall outside of the car be sure you get the wax out of the crevices. Nothing looks worse than a nice car with wax stuck in the nooks and crannies. Use a good Caraneuba Wax use the best to impress!! Remember the exterior is the first impression so make it count. Now to clean the vehicle's glass, use some good quality glass cleaner and paper towels check the cleanliness often, you dont want to wipe and smear dirt around. Now don't laugh, but if you dont have paper towels handy you can use newspaper. I saw this done at a shop I used to work at and believe it or not it appeares to work better than papertowels. Now, by this time the whole vehicle sould be detailed and oooooo now its time to drive it to the show. Bring a California Duster, microfiber towel, some quick detail spray wax, tire shine, glass cleaner and paper towels along just incase of bird shit. There's nothing like a shinney ride with a big Crow dump on your widshield (that personally enoys the hell out of me). When you leave to drive to the show get there a little early to get a good spot, to register or sign in, and to avoid lines. Now 10to1 when you drive it to the show water will come out from its hiding places and create water spots you want to take care of that before the show goers envie your ride. You can do last minute detailing to the exterior at the show like spray wax to get the water spots and minor road dust off. Now here is a tip, apply the tire shine at the show, use a foam pad this prevents splatter on the body and gives a "fresh" look to the vehicle plus it'll give ya something to do while you're there all day. It'll show you take pride in your ride and make people appreciate it a lot more if they see you doing something to it at the show. Also if some one gives a compliment at the show be polite and say "thank you". More tips to come so stay tuned ! ! !
Nice pic but I relized something, when you upload a pic it looks worse then the original
