1987 RX7 Sport-package, 5speed with a/c and p/s, NO sunroof.
Bought the car in Virginia and towed it back to western NY.
180+k on the odo and a busted rotary... time to swap!

Hinsons awesome motor and trans mount.
Reinforced the subframe mount for the front of the diff so it wont tear out on hard launches when using a solid diff mount with a V8 swap.

The LS1 is actually much lighter and compact than expected, completely METRIC bolts and its an all aluminum heads, block and the structural-member oilpan is aluminum too. Composite intake keeps weight off the top and the distributorless ignition is very modern and precise. The LS1 computer (PCM) is completely reprogrammable with readily available software, no need for management like Motech, Haltech, Hondata or Megasquirt to get huge power or just remove emissions CEL's.
T56 is damn beefy and big but still removable from the motor IN the car if you remove the T56 from the bellhousing first.
Tein Flex coilovers are much better than the super tall stockers! The ride height adjustment is independent from the stroke so you dont lose stroke even if you dump the car 4 inches down low.

Huge wiring mess, almost all of it gets removed / cut out!
My Dad aka Einstein helped drop the motor in, the swap was simple since the FC engine bay is HUGE and the front subframe/crossmember design provides perfect clearance for the LS1 stock oilpan.

Tranny mount was easy to drill holes for and install.
Intake and cooling hoses were easy to route and source for cheap.

Relocated battery is a perfect fit in the storage bin.
Loved this pic with the sign... this was on stock fenders, I ran 17x8 +35 fronts and 17x9 +35 rears with 235/40R17 and 255/40R17 tires, perfect fit. You can also fit up to a 275 out back on any +35 wheel, whether its a 17x8.5, x9, x9.5 or even a 17x10 wheel. Some fender lip rolling is needed if your car is lowered or if your car dives down under launch.

Log Cabin car night in Rochester/Macedon with some other RX7 dudes, there's 4 LS1FC's in town, hell yeah!
