Thanks for checking out my ride. My name is Jason, (gtajay/blackhawk j) this is my Firehawk! You can also drop me a line on myspace above.

My car is an LS1/6 speed car. It has the firehawk level 1 suspension, t tops, grey leather interior, chrome wheels. The first 20 pictures were taken in my apartment complex and at the Southeastern Louisiana State campus in Hammond Louisiana.

+UPDATE+ June 1, 2007: Rotorworks crossdrilled/slotted rotors with Hawk HPS pads came in: look good and work good
+UPDATE+ Apr. 27 2007: The UPS man brought me a present today. I got a UMI Single Adjustable Panhard Rod. There was a noticable difference in the rear-end composure during hard cornering. The car doesnt step out as abruptly as it used to. For the money definately a worth while upgrade.

+UPDATE+ Nov. 30 2006: For the past two months my car has been laid up pending a clutch replacement and nice weather to do it in. This past week has been quite nice and the trany came out along with the clutch and slave cylinder and all was replaced! I just finished putting it back together today. I start testing it tomorrow!
**NEW TOYS** (summer 2006)

I took my car down to Thunder Racing this week and it came back with this:
The Thunder Racing CheaTR cam! The specs for the cam are 214/230 and .601in/.578ex with 117deg lobe sep. angle. I also got Comp Cams dual valve springs and titanium retainers and Thunder Racing pushrods. Now my car can scream up to 6800RPMS!

I bought the car as a birthday present to myself at the begining of October '05 and by January '06 I put 20,000 miles on it!

I installed a short throw shifter and MSD 8.8 mm wires. I also took the opportunity to do the free modifications.

Obviously I love driving this car. Took it on two road trips from New York to Louisiana. I ended up moving to Louisiana...I'll be back in NY in August.

I try to go to the track to test the car whenever I do upgrades. This is my do everything sports car. I drag race, auto cross, road course and drift with this thing. It is a very competent all around performer.
I got the largest power steering cooler I could find, drifting teaches you some hard lessons about fluid temperatures! Could you imagine the looks on the faces of the import drivers when they saw this monster sliding sideways toward them in their rearview mirrors!

I got the car dyno tested when it was stock. I was excited to see that it put 308 hp to the wheels, though it getting detonation at the top of the rpm band. I later installed an SLP airlid. I love the way the looks, and sounds, freeing up some engine bay space is also a plus.

I took these pictures at the LSU campus, really pretty day so I couldnt resist. Interior still stock except for a radar detector investment. A sharp eye will notice the short throw shifter from the WS6 store and the optional Firehawk floormats.
I also got myself a spare Auburn limited slip differential from SLP.
I purchased "PONTIAC" and "TRANS AM" decals from the WS6 Store. I got them in silver because I like the looks of the silver decals on the CETA's. I also repainted the hood vents flat black, (the chipped paint annoyed my brother).
Thunder Racing, bright and early

The owner of the Camaro is my roomate he can be found on my link above. I talked him into getting it and it changed his life. His SS is truly beautiful and he went through a lot of trouble to get it.

Your humble host...

June 2nd 2006: I woke up in the morning to find that the parking spot where my Firehawk is usually parked to be empty.

Yep, it got stolen! The police recovered it that afternoon in Baton Rouge some 35 miles away. Bet that was a fun ride. I promise it wont happen again. Found that my power steering pump, which was already pretty bad was now worse but luckily the solution is sitting in my living room:

At least I got the car back in one piece so all is well that ends well...

BONUS PICTURES!

I found some old pictures of my Trans Am GTA and scanned them.
This car was a labor of love. When I was younger I searched far and wide for a GTA and was lucky enough to find a Notchback car, 625 were made. This particular example was also equipped with the digital dash, Borg-Warner rear and WS6 suspension.

The car was once white, then red and then painted black when I bought it in 1999. I painted it black again last year, and took off the side molding to help clean up the profile of the car. Stripping the paint was not fun but necessary to make the body smooth.

The car was perfectly fine when I bought it but the need for speed was too overwelming. So out with the old and in with the new. The one who is smiling is my younger brother Joe.

I did all the work on the car myself and am proud of its results.

As with many project cars one never really finishes working on it. A hot rodder can always find some area to improve upon, unfortunately this car is on hiatus due to the Firehawk becoming my "Top Flight" car.

This car kept me sane in college, and occupied lots of time, see:
*SDPC SD 350 4 bolt engine.
*Vortec heads, LT4 cam, 1.6 rockers, PM rods
*Edlebrock TPI base plate, ported/polished plenum
*adjustable fuel pres. regulator
*24# SVO injectors
*Shorty headers/Flowmaster exhaust
*subframe connectors
*Intrax 2" lowering springs
*KYB gas-adjust shocks
*Reprogramed prom
*K&N filter/ported MAF
*TCI shift kit, fourth gear servo
*MSD ignition, Accel 8.8mm wires
*FAL dual fans, 160 deg. thermo.
I have done a lot more but I think I covered the important items, the bottom line is 357hp at 4800rpms, 405ft/lb torque at 3400rpms...it got the job done!

Hope you have enjoyed looking at my cars as much as I have enjoyed beating on them...
