I bought this car off my parents just before they got rid of it. Before my family owned it, a large Banking Corporation owned it as a company car ,my truck is FULLY LOADED...

MERCURY'S ORIGINAL COMMENTS ON THE MOUNTAINEER:
"The pushrod V8 does the job on the Mountaineer. With almost 300 foot-pounds of torque and 225 horsepower on tap, the Mercury launches from stoplights with authority and a roar that will blow the doors off that sedan in the next lane."

I credit this last pic to the user "clarkkent" and his nasty Mountaineer named "Battletank", a truck worthy of it's name. His pic of his truck with this message across the back gave me the idea to get it made into a decal to ward off all those hopeful losers in their hooptie civics thinking they can take on the infamous V8. I took this sticker off awhile back but it's point lives on....

I now simply have a "Year One" sticker, the guys there answered a lot of questions for me and were a big help when i was lost, looking for 5.0 engine parts, and sent me a sticker after viewing a pic of my truck.

Imports definitely have their power, but theres nothing like American Muscle.....

Thanks for the comments. You might try the ExplorerX.com forum for ideas for the Mountaineer. More of those members have done things with their grille, including "shaving" the emblem. I bought my green grille like yours in 2004, I just have not had someone to paint it. Did you see my 347 pictured with my truck, it's just on a stand so far? I recommend Fordstrokers.com as the best quality and price for a 347 etc, $1900 base price for shortblock. Regards,

Hahaha, I love your "I eat Hondas" thing. I hate Hondas! Check out my 73 Beetle and my Explorer when you got a chance. I only got the 6 in my Explorer, but it goes.

Very nice. I have that grille here ready to paint, and pictured with my truck and an 02+ emblem. My 99 Limited started as that color also. If you keep your truck long you might think of a 347 to add, I'll have mine in soon. Regards,
