Exterior
One of the mods that I've been wanting to do for a while is to get rid of the horrible orange taillights... as you can see in other pictures it sticks out pretty badly. In 2006 they changed it to a clear housing, so I tinted it to match the rest of the car.

I had a custom "sticker" made by Purple Jalopy to cover the Chrysler emblem on the rear wing. I'm happy with how it came out!

I did get the Mopar body kit installed at the 07 St. Augustine show. I had some experienced help from a few friends and the install went rather smoothly (save for a rivet gun malfunction). It is a suble addition but I truly enjoy how it changes the car's attitude.

I also have never cared for the lower "egg-crate" grille on the PT's. Finally, one weekend while in Tampa at a friend's house, I got up the nerve to open that lower grille up! I did this mostly for appearance's sake, but I'm sure this allows more air to flow to the intercooler. I will be creating diverters to channel the oncoming air directly into the core once it warms up.
I marked the line with a grease pen and started in with the cutting wheel on my dremel. I smoothed out the edges with a grinding wheel and finished it off by putting black door-edge gaurd on the edge.

Post-body shop pics! All at one time, while I was on a trip, I had my local body shop take care of a dent and a few other things. I had damaged my rear bumper, and instead of putting more money into a bumper that ruined one of the best lines on the PT, I bought a PTeazer Rollpan. This peice smooths out the entire back of the vehicle and makes it look sleek.

While the body shop was at work, I had them smooth out the hood as well. I've never liked the Chrysler wing emblem on the hood, so I took the washer nozzles off and had them fill the holes, repaint the hood, and clear coat the underside as well. Much nicer!

Of course, since I don't like losing something functional, I remounted the washer nozzles per a friend who did the same thing. It was very simple, they work great, and you won't see them unless you know what to look for!

Since I'm trying to go for the dark accented appearance, I decided to do he "headlight black-out mod" that I had seen a few other PT's do. It was fairly simple: get a can of Krylon Fusion Black spray paint, clear coat if you want it, window sealant, and light adhesive painters tape. READ: TAKE YOUR TIME!! Otherwise it might not turn out as well as you hoped.

I decided to tape off the turn signal area and remove the amber reflector while I had the headlight housing apart. I put in a pair of Sylvania "chrome" side markers (#4157) and PIAA Superwhite bulbs (9005/9006), which allow me with my astigmatism to see MUCH better at night, to finish up the look.
