With my good luck with my first LED Mods, I wanted to take on something I really wanted with my truck.
LED Tail Lights!!
I think LED Tails look just great, and Toyota must have thought so too, because in 06 they are standard now.
But I think mine look better :)
I have a full Write Up here. This will pretty much take you step by step, on how to do these yourself.
Buy a Peterson Truck Module, remove module from housing.
Then cut back of tail light, to allow module to slide in. Then seal it all back up. Then attach wires to factory wiring.
Here is a side by side comparison to the OEM bulbs, and the LED.
The LEDs on the drivers side, are much more RED and no hot spots . They also have that instant on/off look too.
I'm not done yet with LEDs. You can see in the last pic, those lens in the rear bumper. The 03-05 4Runners have these lens, but they don't light up at all. They are just there?
So I decided to create my own LED board for these.
Again, here is another Write Up if your interested in doing this yourself.
Here is the opened up lens, with the PCB in place:
And here are the bumper lights w/LEDs back on the truck.
I really like these, since I did everything myself on these. Plus I haven't seen any other 4Runners in my area with a mod like this, so that's a bigger bonus!!
If anyone has any questions about my LED's or anything else about my 4Runner, you can find me at Car Audio Central. I go by Chris from Washington.
Just stop by and post or PM me.
