we bought the 1977 740i 4.4 to replace a 1988 735ise which was starting to show its age(bodywork only) we got the car for the car if you understand, not for the toys--these we were always going to add later
Thx to the 7seriesregister.co.uk we now have the sat nav/tv screen, dvd player fitted. It was done over a period of 3 sundays and 2 of the other club members came to our house to help put the retrofit wireing in to the car---it was a momouth task as i personally had never undertaken anything like this before---my era was that of the mini cooper :) Anywaywe also fitted the angel eyes which are full tubes in the headlights and the black surround sprayed silver--the effect at night is stunning. Tina and i also fitted the dvd screens in the headrests---again we had never done anything like this before but our "kids" now love travelling in the car,as we have also fitted wireless headsets as well
All this as i said has been possible due to the fantastic guys and girls in the 7seriesregister,We have met some brilliant people at meetinga all over the uk and the forum has become more like a family than a forum now.We have been down the strip at santa pod but that was in the e32 735i,we have also been to many other meetings
Another thing i would like to point out about the sat nav is that after fitting we had a lot of problems getting it to work---it would keep saying we were in the same place all the time, and thx again to another member of the forum we updated the software in the unit itself and the keycode and it now works 100%
The next things we want to do are
1 fitting of twin exhausts--- done on thursday 20/04/06 2 parking sensors--not fitted as yet 3 reverse camera(already got one fitted but not working) 4 remote start alarm proximity alarm being fitted on monday 24 04/06 ----now fitted and working
hope we havent bored you but we would like to give a big thx to Martin Cook coyote on the 7series forum) for his tireless patience and brilliant work in the face of BMW saying it could not be done---thx martinand to fish from the 7resource forum for his help with the speaker wiring etc--thx john if its allowed the link to the forum is

added this sticker just to upset the boy racers
