Headers "This was the only thing holding exhaust system from full potential." Old ones were junk.

Don't worry later I am going to install a new steering rack and get rid of the rag joint with a Flaming River Steering shaft.
I detuned the engine and had gotten ride of the roller rockers and changed cams.
What I would like to do next.
Body work
1. restore body "custom police interceptor paint job"
2. install sub-frame connectors
3. purchase and install a PROCHARGER Supercharger system
Project on hold due to funding.
The Story:
I must start off by saying this was my first car I ever owned and I have chosen to hold on to it. I have people that keep asking what size the engine if you read further down I tell you, but for those of you that are lazy it is a 302 with 351 Windsor heads on it. The bigger valves allow the engine to breath better. I give more description below.
This was the car I was never supposed to be allowed to buy or own. Which just made me want to hold on to it even longer.
Reason I was never suppose to own it is because I had a trouble home life. Had an argument with my brother and my mom was being an idiot (which later lead to divorce with dad which ended over 20 years marriage). Certain individuals were taking swings at me and slamming me by my neck against the wall.
Anyways straight to the point, I was fed up with the B.S. and stoled my brother's 1982 GT Mustang, which had the engine that he spent two years building for school in it. (Fennimore Tech here in Wisconsin) Needless to say I was hauling a** one thing led to another, next thing I know I was losing cop cars on the back roads, but not before damaging the car.
My brother came home from physical therapy (Idiot broke his leg driving drunk without a motorcycle license) and went ballistic chasing me, threatening to kill me.
I turned myself into the police. Best and Worse Day of my life and the start of self reliance. Fortunately I had a good DA and a good Public Defender. I had already signed papers to the military and a deal was brokered. I would pay all damages to my brother and upon completion of Basic Training my record would be expunged.
Brother bought his car for $1,000 Court ordered me to pay Brother $3000.00 and He fixed him self at school without reporting to insurance and profiting off his little brother.
During the process I was put into a group home and had to work a part time job. 75% of my paycheck would go to my brother and 25% would go to myself. I walked into the court and the Judge had said, " In all my time I have never seen someone walk in with that much cash in that short of time." Out of the 25% I kept for myself I bought this car and some stuff to wear. This has been an on going project. At court my family was furious that I had bought this mustang.
It was funny, but not funny, even the judge defended me to my own mother. You think my family would have been happy about the money i had saved and brought to court to pay for damages. Nope not at all they couldn't get over the mustang purchase.
My Mustang was purchased for $150.00 and was not running when I got it. My dad and I had gotten it to run later and I drove it to all the way to Fort Hood, TX.(Duty Station)
V8 additions didn't happen till I was out of the Army.
I left the Army with two Honorable Discharges. An Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal. I was released from the United States Army under medical related terms after denial of entry into the Special Forces Selection Course. I failed medical evaluation for Special Forces Selection Course.
That's right I tried to enter Special Forces after I had received my Specialist Rank, which was a minimum requirement when I was in the military. After I left the Army was short on recruits and made SF and enlistment option.

This is the SHORT VERSION OF MY STORY.

The Engine Here is a 1979 302 Engine fitted with the Ford Racing Double hump oil pan Bored over and mounted with 351 Windsor Heads (Breath Baby Breath) , also equiped with Air Gap intake Polished, Comp Cams Extreme Energy Cam, Comp Cams push rods, Comp Cams Double Springs, And also Comp Cams Roller Rockers.
My 1979 mustang originally came with a four banger which had gotten me through my military career. On the way back from Texas heading back toward Wisconsin, the factory german transmission started to take a crap on me. It was bound to happen. I made it to Iowa with the car and had my brother come down with a truck and car trailer to come get me. I had over 700 lbs worth of crap in the back to take home from Texas because I was on the way to Germany. After I had gotten out of Germany I decided it was time to start redoing the car the way I wanted it. It is still not there yet, but it is getting closer. Upgraded Engine, Suspension, and complete drive train. I have kept all receipts of transformation.
Another thing I will mention is when I put the modified engine I also put a brand new Tremec TKO 500 5 spd tranny backed with King Cobra performance clutch and a Ford Racing Aluminum Drive Shaft which was required because jumping to the Tremec called for a 31 spline yoke instead of the factory 28 spline in most mustangs.
As You can see there is no Air Conditioning and NO POLUTION pump. I had NAPA measure around the pulleys for a custom sized serpentine belt. No Hold back on this engine.
I HAVE REPLACED THESE WORTHLESS LOCK NUTS FOR THE ROLLER ROCKERS WITH A SET OF LOCK NUTS THAT HAVE A SET SCREW TO SCREW DOWN ON THE STUD BOLT

From a 4 cylinder to a V8 ! No other way to have power. good job and keep up the power mods.
