My 1985.5 944 was purchased from a very good friend in November 2001 (Thanks Pete
Bluepoint Brewing Co.), I'm the third owner. I fell in love with the 944 (non-existent at that time) when I saw the 924 Carrera on a cover of Road and Track magazine.
A constant learning experience. All the work listed below (except the two windshields) was performed by a very talented friend (Thanks Frank)and myself. This car has been years of fun driving and reliable year-round transportation.
COMPLETED WORK:

New Windshield.

New Steering Shaft.
-(1/02):
Welded patch over hole in exhaust header.
-(1/02):
Removed cheesey Porsche Stickers on rear bumper and sides.
-(3/02):
Complete Tune-up.
-(12/02):
New nose panel. 931 nose panel replaces stock 944. Vents are used to supply air to turbo intercooler. This is the panel that Porsche should have included on all 944's and especialy the 951's. Eventually would like to route a K&N air intake to this section of the car.

New: Timing Belt, Balance Shaft Belt, Water Pump, all new rollers and idlers, Alternator belt, Power steering belt, All Hoses.

New (aftermarket) Catalytic Converter.

Upgrade to bigger phone dial wheels and tires:
Replaced stock 15x7 Porsche Phone Dial wheels with 1986 951 Phone Dials:
16x7's (front) and 16x8's (rear).

Yokohama AVS ES 100
225/50/16 (front), 245/50/16 (rear)

New Hella Fog Lights.

Replaced yet another cracked windshield.

Brake work:
replaced front brake discs with new Zimmerman cross drilled, new pads front and back, repacked front bearings.
-(New Alternator Belt (prevous belt loose and chewed; should have been tightened sooner* see 3/03).

New Radiator temperature switch.

New oil pressure sending unit.
-(6/12/04):
Complete Tune-up (#2).
-(7/10/04):
New Boge struts with new Weltmeister (200 lb.) coil springs up front, new Boge shocks for rear.
-(7/23/04):
Rebuilt ball joint on passenger side.
-(8/08/04):
Re-tensioned timing belt/balance shaft belt.
-(8/21/04):
Converted flip-up headlights to stationery clear lenses with "kit" recently bought from GT-RACING*.
