1995 saw the introduction of the Mustang GTS, which was designed to be a lightweight "barebones" car with the power of a GT. The GTS was basically a base Mustang with the 215 horspower 5.0L V-8 thrown in. This was to keep the car light, which would aid in handling and acceleration. Only 6,370 Mustang GTS's were produced. Note the delete rear spoiler and the absence of power windows, power door locks and power seats that came as standard equipment on the regular GT model.
