For those who have viewed my RX8 before, welcome back! There have been numerous changes to the vehicle including the installation of the ZEX Nitrous System! Check out my engine modifications, racing and the new Black Halo Racing section of my profile!
The RX8 is currently the only RX vehicle in production by Mazda and is the latest in the RX generation of rotary engine powered vehicles. While the Rotary engine has been produced since 1969, Mazda remains the only automotive manufacturer to produce this motor in mass.
My 2005 Brilliant Black RX8 is powered by the 1.3L RENESIS motor and is the 6 port version found only in the sport version of the vehicle. When I purchased the vehicle, it contained no options other than the sport package which is the only way a manual transmission comes packaged.
Some major features of the RX8 include:
-Carbon Fiber Driveshaft, 18 inch wheels, larger brakes, 6 port RENESIS motor, and sport tuned suspension, all aluminum hood, roof, and trunk lid.
While there are a lot of RX8?s out there being modified by their owners, I have opted to take a unique approach due to the fact that this vehicle is my daily driver. I wanted to have fun at the track, look great at car shows but also be able to drive to work on Monday morning!
As a result, I?ve had to focus my build to keeping the car naturally aspirated and working with the best parts of the car to enhance performance. Mazda engineered the rotary engine so that it would put out more power than an N/A RX7 due to the fact that they would no longer offer a turbo charged version of the RX series vehicle.
I?ve focused my build on suspension, cooling, instruments and diagnostics as well as several appearances adds to distinguish the vehicle.
