jimmer2's 1989 Ford Taurus
theres the winter car that was also my summer car this last year, but hopefully not this year. well I'll list some of my mods for you:

suspension:
aluminum subframe bushings
tokico struts(Front)
intrax lowering springs (Front)
aluminum front strut tower brace
16 x 6' sho wheels
215/60 bf goodrich excelentia gt front tires
goodyear rear tires
full length subframe connectors ( Built and welded in by me)
rear control arm box x-brace (not put in yet)

performance
Air silencer inside air box removed
Muffler replaced with straight pipe
-( car has a nice low rumble -not too loud at all)
Upper manifold ported( i got bored , so i figured why not)

So basically nothing major -just easy cheap stuff, and g-tech says i gained about 10 HP. I'm not going to mess with the engine untill I get the engine for my other car built and running and even then i probably won't touch it because after all it was just supposed to be a beater!!!)

all air conditioning equipment removed
new radiator last winter
auxillary trasmission cooler ( axod's are notorious for dieing)
mobile 1 oil (because I depend on this car)
hawk HPS brake pads (deff increase in stopping power)

As you can tell, I win races by having cornering abiltity, not brute power as the engine only makes like 150 HP and 160 ft/lbs.
Car is way more fun to drive now then when it was stock. It's my opinion that the handling of a car is most important, not that I wouldn't mind a few hundred extra ponies to play with.

styling
Flat black paint job (need to redo hood)
side trim removed
rear emblems removed
lightly tinted windows ( so much cooler in the summer)
taurus sho bumpers and ground effects
aluminum mesh in frontal openings of bumper and grill
-(keeps the radiator nice and clean)
hood pins
h4 fog lights installed where stock fog's were on the sho
bumper -cause they sucked major monkey balls
window vent visors ( created a dramatic effect actually)
wheels painted "gun metal"
center caps left off to create a mechanical beast effect with the
exposed lugnuts
used to leave the front liscense plate off, but i got chased by
the popo one day ( i got away :) ) so i figured i would
just put it back on.
i think thats everything, but im probably missing somthing

electronics
Blinder M-20 laser jammer (for those who know, oh yeeah!!!)
Escort passport 8500 x50 red (can you tell I like to speed yet)
blauqplunt? stereo head unit
Audiobahn 2000 watt x 1 channel at 1 ohm
2 -12" audiobahn subs each with 2 4ohm drivers
So all the coils are in parallel to create 1 ohm (thank-you
electronic circuits class)
Box custom built by me to take up minimal trunk space yet
have proper volume and it doesn't slide around at all
I need a capacitor though (hits hard, but not hard enough)
Heavy duty battery (nothing special but like 850 cca)
I could probably use a high output alternator, but w/e for now
Alarm/remote car starter/ keyless entry

I F'ing love remote start in the winter, and the keyless entry rocks too. Naturally I installed it all, cause I got skills boys and girls and don't dare forget it

thats all i have to say -for now. I'll try to get some more pics as well. let me kno what you think, be honest, but don't forget I already know it's a taurus GL, i'm just being creative with what I got
