I purchased this vehicle in January 06' off a fellow Victorian mini club member! It is a genuine 1970 Morris Mini-k. I'm not gonna crap on and tell you how many shows my car has won or how fully sick my car is... even though thorpy says it is! My car is as good as any other mini... sure it has it faults as all of them do! Im 17 at the moment on an apprentice wage, so as some of you would know its not alot of money! So i'm working on this car as the money comes, its a work in progress having to do a great deal of the work myself... lucky i know a great mini mechanic named Mark Doolan who is helping me with alot of things! Slowly but surely this mini is getting better and better!

My car:

My car in a nutshell:

1970 Mini K
Tamarisk green
White roof
White cooper works stripes
standard 1100cc
Cooper s drums all round
10 X 5 minilite rims
Sports flare kit painted white
Drift 12" steering wheel
Twin tanks
Clubman bumpers front and rear (not really proud of these)
Sound deadener underlay
Bullet mirrors
Pirhana Performance seats
bling bling door handles window winders
steering column mounted tachometer
newly carpeted interior

The heart/ticker:

Well the old ticker ain't to good at the moment, its just a stock 1100cc, so that is going as soon as i have the money, i just spend it all on a FULL rebuild of my gearbox, so i will be able to drop a 1275?? ontop of it oneday and hopefully put it on gas! my dream:D The other thing that is going is the YUCKY drums, and i have just recently been able to get hold of a set of cooper s discs to fit inside my 10" rims so when i have the time they will be going on:D As far as other modifications go it has twin tanks and thats about it!

DOOF DOOF SYSTEM:

1970greenbeast's 1970 MINI Cooper

I didn't have huge money to spend on a system and lets face it with the amount of noise that a mini makes who needs to hear the best quality sounds, sure i culd put twin alpine 12" subs trillion dollar 6" splits tweeters everywhere everything amped, i could go crazy (if the money permitted) but who needs it in a mini were there is that amount of road noise! SO i settled with a budget Sony head unit, plays mp3's and stuff Mounted 2 Sony 6" speakers on the parcel shelf, and cut holes in the dash for 2 Sony 4"s! Then one day i went a little mad and bought twin 6.5" 200W earthquake subs and put them under the back seat and then went even craxier and bought a high powered 1000W earthquake amp to power the subs!! SOUNDS DOOF DOOF AS YOU CAN GET IN A MINI!

The Cabin:

The interior of my mini is fairly basic.. well i tried to keep it simple and the black and silver theme. I've had it re carpeted with black marine carpet and Warragul Auto Interiors did a great job with it. I re trimmed the front door cards with some black vinyl and black heavy duty felt. Then Added some EXPENSIVE mini spares imported Bling bling door handles, window winders and door pulls, they look a treat! I re trimmed the dash by cutting out some boards out of ply and covering them in commodore black vinyl, then i put speakers and a couple of cheap dials in them, like inside tempreture and a clock. Then i have left the rear seat untouched and origional, however i put Piranha performance sports seats in the front... they are alot more comfortable and practical! They also look a treat i think! I have also fitted retractable front seatbelts, just abit of a creature comfort i think! All my roof lining, sun visors and mirror is all totally origional but soon will be changing! So yeah that is my inerior in a mini shell!

1970greenbeast's 1970 MINI Cooper With abit of time effort and money i now have it looking nice and sounding nice!

hi mate, nice car i got a mini k with a 1275 cooper s engine bored out to a 1310 with a weber, and a mini cooper s (bit rough) which i plan on doin the Vtec conversion too. i read that you want to convert to gas, i would strongly not recommend because you still have to run petrol anyway. anyway nice car and good luck with it.

Real nice. I'm 17 and got my P's, so I drive my mini everyday, and love it! I got a 1330cc 'S' 'tis a lot of fun. Better still I got a supercharger in the shed which will go in early next year.

Wow nice ride. It looks really clean, I'm quite jelous. The green with white flares looks quite nice surprisingly, and you have done a great jog with the dash. Keep up the good work.
