I bought my truck for $300 and it was not running. After about a year of rebuilding and about $2500 it is back running, with a new paint job, as well as a few other things.
Here is what we had to replace to get it in running order:
- exhaust front to back
- new timing chain, tensioner and coverplate
- water pump
- new gas lines and fuel pump
- rear shocks
- front left idler arm
- headlamps
- starter and alternator rebuilt
- bumper from a 98' Tacoma
Here is what it looked like when I bought it.
We took the box off to find a better one, which also made it easier to change the shocks and exhaust.
The stock horn on the truck sucked, so I put in a bigger, and louder one.
I bought new fenders because it was easier and cheaper to buy new ones. This is what it looked like right before it went to the painter.
