The car built in August 1964 as a 65 Windsor White convertible. When I bought it in 1997 it had lots of rust and wear. On Page 2 you can see the transformation process. The car sat in the garage until 2005 while I saved for the restomod project. Disaasembly began in January of 2005. The fenders, doors and quarter panels were all replaced. The original buckets were replaced with re-designed buckets from a 97 Mustang GT. Laser Red with several clearcoats was applied to the exterior while the interior was redone with plush cut pile carpet and ultra leather on the seats and surfaces. A vinyl top just would not do so a custom tan canvas top was acquired. The instrument panel was replaced with 6 white-faced, domed guages and an engine turned stainless bezel. The car was completely re-wired and A/C added. A modern sound system with 6 Blaupunkt speakers replaced the original AM radio. The 289 engine was returned to its original black and tricked out with custom valve covers, Weiand manifold, MSD-6AL ignition, Edelbrock 600 CFM carb, long tube headers, a 130 amp alternator, electric fan and touches of chrome. 16 inch Eagle alloy wheels are on the rear and 15 inch on the front. Granada disk brakes replaced the drums on the front along with new 620 coils and a 1" sway bar. The rear has new 5-leaf springs with KYB shocks all around.

The trunk is also finished in Ultra Leather. A Sound Design 360 W amp powers the 4 mid-range speakers and 4 tweeters in the passenger compartment while a Sound Design 240 W amp powers the 10" sub woofer in the trunk.

Each Seat back and floor mat has an embroidered "Running
Mustang"

Engine before the switch to an Edelbrock Performer carb and new air cleaner...and after. The air cleaner costs more than my first car! The early '09 project was to convert to the March Performance Sepentine Pulley system. The original v-belt just could not reliably pull the loaded 130 amp alternator.
