Under construction....Just up loaded some fresh pic's.

Before i ever bought this car i had decided i wanted to do up a Monte G body, i liked the swoopy lines and i like the size of the 78 an up.

So i bought this car from a chick on the other side of town, the car was rough and for the money she wanted, i walked away. She called back we made a deal, and the 2 1/2 year rebiuld began.

Rebuild was ground up, Frame from rear kickup back was replaced with compond angle cut 3" channal, body was alianed and welded to cleaned and painted frame.Doors and fenders were replaced.
Fender lips (inside) were trimed rolled and massaged, rear inner fender tubs were stretched to the outer fender, (just a big hammer an a lota care) frount fenders had the plastic inners cut away were they meet the fender. templet cut sheet metel pop rivited in makes the inner fender flat were it meets up with the fender.

Wheels are 15 x 10 D hole stock car chromes,Back space is 4.25" Rubber is BFG 265/50/15s, Power windows and door locks were added,

Car drives like it is on a rail, suspesion is firm but not harsh, cruseing on the by-pass at 100 mph is nice, Motor's turnin 4400 i think, and the sound is sweet. black interier came mostly from a Grand Le-mans same year.

I put a oil pressure gauge were the clock used to be.

Suspention was rebiult new Moog everything and Energy Suspention polygrafite replaced all rubber.Bell Tech dropped spindles and
F-41 sway up front, cut 76 chevelle station wagon springs were added all round.

SnakePliscan's 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Posi track was insatlled with 3.08 gears, daul sway bars and cut rear springs bolted to frame and axle. KYB gas shocks all around, Rear links are semi boxed.
Doubling up the sway bar is easy, you just biuld a set of dropper bars with a cross brace welded on and the approperate holes drilled.
I think i'm going to take the lower bar out because the rear
with the springs that are in there is too tight.
Dual sway bars would work better in a car with softer springs
like the Monte stockers.

Engine is a 383 Vortec coupled to a sagina 4 gear with 3.10 first,

SnakePliscan's 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Engine makes an honst 400 HP. with 440 Lb.lbs. torque.
Cloyes gear drive, Hyd cam, CC 270 Magnum, Flow bench ported Vortec heads, 400 crank, GM Powdered metal LT-1 rods, KB hyperetechtic D dish pistons,
9.76:1 compression, Holley 650 dobble pumper,Aluminum intake,
Speed pro Z-28 oil pump, Accel ignition locked distributur, Taylor wires, AC marine plugs,Flow tech headers, Rapor mufflers
Stock clutch made lots of smoke when the mechanial seconderys hit, Centerforce II is better.
Delco 15 SI alternator.

SnakePliscan's 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Air intake behind RT.frt. head light, battery relocated to trunk.

SnakePliscan's 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Hand made custom synco exhaust sounds sweet like a super speedway Nascar when the revs are up.

SnakePliscan's 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Future plans:: may put in a stereo but i like the sound of the engine! Finish the interior,a few more gauges, Hook up the heater, Aluminum water pump.

Hi there. I'm fairly new to this site. I'm loving the community here, so I want to contribute to everyone this article I read that really changed my life financially. Last week I got a check for $900! Really, no joke, I thought I couldn't do it myself, but I did. And it really helped me out my family financially because i'm a stay at home mom. But here's the article I read: http://www.news4show.com/finance/google-hiring-you.html hopefully it works out for you too. Good luck and God bless!
