**** UPDATE - 9/11/09 ****

The 8 Point Chromoly Roll Bar has been installed. Came out great. Very clean install. Just have to buy padding and put back the 5 point racing harness. Pics on Page 3

Also replaced the control arms and sway bar end link bushing. They were all original. 9 years old. It was time

Added a rear window banner decal. Bought it from www.ZZPdecals.com . Pic on page 2

**** UPDATE - 9/3/09 ****

It's been a while since I've updated my page. I have an 11 month old which has taken up most of my time. Of course in a good way.

Today I dropped the GP off to have the Roll Bar installed. With it installed, I will be able to raise my boost and hopefully run high 10's. That also means I get to change my license plate again. ;-)

I repainted my front grills to black. I wanted a different look and felt the all silver look was too much. Also put "turbocharged" decals on hood scoops and under the Grand Prix badge on trunck lid. Pics on page 2.

I install a push button start. It's mainly for fun since you still have to have the key in the on position. I did make it where you have to use the button. This has been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years. Pictures and video are on page 3

**** UPDATE - 1/20/09 ****

Well I finally was able to find time to take apart the car to see about the rear manifold. I did crack the rear manifold. ONe of the welds split all the way around. It was from running too rich. It most likely happened after the 2nd or 3rd run. I ordered a new one from ZZP and should be here tomorrow.

After that, my new custom exhaust get done and the roll cage goes in.

Then re-dynod and then the track in April.

**** UPDATE - 11/24/08 ****

I went to the track yesterday. First time in a year and a half and also with the new setup (bigger turbo and A2A IC). It was a nice cold day. It was the last day of the season at Etown. Track prep was so, so. I spun everytime off the line. Even when I tried to ease into the throttle. I had the slicks set at 13 psi. I should have lowered them to 10-11 psi. I know for next time. I was pulling 1.8 60's everytime.

Anyway, my first pass of the day was an 11.76 @ 116.34. I was VERY RICH on the top end which was giving me KR. My WB gauge was reading 9.9-10.1. I also was maxing out my MAF sensor. I had to use the AFC to adjust the fueling. My idle and cruise was perfect. My LTFT's locked in at 0.

After the A2A IC upgrade, my wife and I had a baby which gave me no time to go out and do WOT runs. Plus it's hard on street tires and hard here in NYC w/o getting caught.

After 5 runs I finally got the top end leaned out and got the WB reading 11.4-11.5. I ran a best of 11.57 @ 120.01mph with a 1.81 60'. Boost was set at 16lbs and timing was 16*. Had 1/4 tank of 100 oct and the car weighed 3602lbs. Also had the cutout open. Car has a lot more in it.

Thank God for my friend who I was updating during the day. He kept me calm and patient. He was telling me to fix the fueling issue first before raising the boost up which I was dying to do so bad to run faster. I also kept in mind what Matt (ZZP) told me when adjusting the AFC. Adjust the AFC little at a time. I also couldn't go too crazy since I don't have a roll cage and being on lifetime probation with etown, I didn't want to cause any problems. ( Here is the link to that, http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/fb.asp?m=2672913&key=almost+banned&language=single)

I will be putting in a roll cage this winter. This way I can raise the boost up and not have a problem. Plus a better 60' (my best was a 1.67) and if I lose the 20 lbs I've gained in 2 years, the car will run much faster. Hey, my wife is a great cook.

THE BAD NEWS
I either blew a rear manifold gasket or cracked the rear manifold. Cracking it sounds right since I was running very rich causing detonation in the manifold. I don't know which pass it happened since I had the cutout open all day and didn't realize it until leaving the track.

I just upgrade from a W2A IC system to an A2A IC system. I installed a Treadstome Peformance A2A IC - Core Size, 12" X 22" X 4.5". The piping should be done by tomorrow.

I also made and installed an intake spacer out of Phenolic material to keep the spacing between the UIM and LIM.

I also installed a Flex-A-Lite Electric Fan for the tranny cooler.

**** UPDATE - 3/26/06 ****

I went to the track on 3/25/06. I have more good news and bad news.

Bad News:
On a bad note, something went wrong with my tranny. On my 4th run after my launch I had no more gears and had to criuse the reast of the way. All I can do is rev the engine. All I had was park and neutral. This problem could have been a cause of all the shifting problems I had or it could be something else. I dropped it off at a tranny shop I'll get an update on Monday.

Good News:
My 2-3 shift problem was fixed. Some things had to be adjusted in the PCM.

My new PB is an 11.85 @ 114.60 with a 1.75 60'. I was at 17lbs of boost. The car felt strong. I was on the lean side on the top end so I need to adjust that for the next time out. I was more happy about my shifint working then the new PB. Don't get me wrong, I had a huge smile on my face. The next time out, I'm going to hit the gas harder off the line next time out. I'm doing little at a time till I get used to the turbo.

Time slip is on page 5

Hey bud, gettin back to you, letting you know my Monte is up and running at partial breakin power right now.Pushing only 10 pds boost, they want to dyno it at 23 pds on 91 and 28 on 104 octane. In your experiences is that going to be to much boost to be safe? The motor was built by a shop that runs 6 sec dragsters. But I dont want to lose it again. My page 1 has a Youtube link on it if you care to hear her rumble. Expect about 575whp after it dyno's next week.I have my cutout before the CAT. Respect your car the most I believe out of all the newer GM Gran Prix' or Montes considering all the performance mods and the time slips don't lie.Nice job!! LMK what you think about my boost and car video.Take care,Regards
