Stock air box mode.
Step 1 - Buy another air box from some one who bought an aftermarket CAI. You will want to do this if you feel the dealer will give you a hassle about it. Or you may want to put the stock box on the car during winter. I do as the need for performance is needed less at this time and Oiled filters and -40 does not work well.
Step 2 - buy a Conical (cone) Airfilter with a 3.5" inlet. K&N is okay, but you could buy a dry flow filter too. A second choice is to get the K&N drop in filter.
I have the K&N drop in filter. two reasons. I can cut holes and give some protection to the filter. second reason is that if a clamp comes loose on a conical filter it drops in side and no filter on the air tube. access is not easy to get to the air filter. (you have to remove the tire. I have a fix for that. read on.
Step 3 - Cut strategic holes in airbox. - Pictures to be provided.
If your planning using a conical filter then just cut off as much of the box as you would like.
Step 4 - install air filter and MAF sensor.
Step 5 - put in your modified box and go!! Enjoy the supercharger scream.
More to come. Planing on taking the intake tube out and making a custom tube that is 3" mandrel bend and less restrisions.
