3 day old headlights from VSGLS1
***We take no responsibility for any possible damage caused by taking appart your headlights***
Tools needed:
Oven preheated to 200*F
Flathead screwdriver
Butter knife
Silicon RTV sealant
Steel wool
Masking tape
Can of spray paint, color of your choice

“How To”
1) Take the headlights off of the car and set them your work area.
2) Take off the 4 metal clips that help secure the headlight housing with the screwdriver.

3) Remove the lights, do not touch the bulbs, and make sure you remember which socket they came from.

4) Place the headlight assembly into the oven for about 20 minutes @ 200*F

5) Take them out of the oven and use the butter knife to seperate the lense from the headlight assembly.

6) Work the knife around the whole assembly until the lense is off. Do not force it! You can break the plastic!

If it is hard to do, place the assembly back into the oven a little longer.

7) Take the steel wool and start scuffing the "chrome" reflective part on the inside of the lense. Do not scuff the reflectors in the back of the assembly(these are the areas that are going to be masked off).

7) Mask off the back reflectors with the tape

8) Prep & mask the bottom part on the clear lense cover.

9) Make sure all the paintable surfaces are clean, spraying with compressed air is a good idea. Put a few coats of paint on it. Let dry per paints instructions. 20 minutes should be good.

10) Remove the masking. Take the RTV sealant and put a bead of RTV around the light assembly in the groove that the clear lense seats in. The whole groove!

11) Place the clear lense back on the light assemble and press it down firmly.

12) Place a bead of RTV around the whole assembly from the outside. Take your finger and run it over the bead to fill in any missed spots to make a water tight seal.

13) Put the metal clips back on and bulbs back in. Wait a few minutes for the RTV to set and you are done.
Here you can see the difference
