Now all done!
- 4x 215/45/17 directional tyres (passed wof with current tyres so they will stay)
+ low springs installed
+ overhaul brakes
+ replacement hub, axels and cvs
+ sport brake pads
+ skimmed front brake disks
I got 4 new or 99% new 215/45/17 tyres from my best friend (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3348420) Craig for very cheap. I am suprised the car passed its
inspection with the current tyres on it. Only failed on 2 very minor things; spare wheel insecure and cos my locknuts had to be drilled off it needed an extra wheelnut in each wheel.
Struts were sent off to be steam cleaned to look good when the springs went on. They have done about 8,000 km since they were installed in 2006. Sprayed them yellow to go with the springs just for looks. Yup theyre the same springs I had back in 2006, which had never been on a car ever. Finally almost 3 years later the front ones are on the shocks and are now on the car! These are the front struts.
Front shocks done in yellow with the low springs on them. Hub and rotors in red and black. Rotors and callipers and brake lines are the only original components albeit rebuilt and all seals replaced.
l/h side on car. Both sides are getting replacement cv/hub/axel assemblies due to the lh side being threaded and the right hub was buggered from sitting for so long. They were off a low 120,000 km car apparentley.
Front Before (stock springs) Front After (king springs)
Now starting on rear suspension! Pic on left was 2.7.09. Both rear shocks, springs, callipers and hubs are removed. Having the brakes overhauled as I did on the fronts. This time the rear hubs are ok and dont need replacement. As of now Im waiting on seals to kit the brakes. Unfortunatley I didnt bring my camera and my cell was going flat but I did get one pic.

10.7.09. Rear suspension is all in and back together, painted like the fronts. I was able to go for a drive! Yaaaaaay! Car drove like it was brand new! (albeit a little stiffer ride wise). It was fully awesome but unfortunatley the car developed a miss which we thought was just an ignition lead but no, turned out to be an injector. Dammit! So close so very very close but no its not coming home tonight.

Time for ride height comparrison! I love how it sits now. Ignore the the trash sack; sunroof leaks.
