+ 160hp (de-cat, aluminium oil pan, FE3N cammed, hi compression 10.0.1) FE-Dohc from an import 1988 Mazda C2 Capella (MX6) with 180,000 ks. Short of taking head off block, every gasket seal and ring is replaced with oem parts. The only thing used from what was left of the original engine was the distributor, power steering pump and a few switches. Needs an injector replaced now as I discovered last night 11.7.09.
+ Master cylinder
+ Slave cylinder
+ Light polish (intake)
+ HLAs cleaned
+ New vacuum lines
+ New frost plugs
+ New gaskets
+ Reco altenator
+ many more parts I cant remember
(little things I still want to do, near future.)
- Catch can
- Functional cold air intake
Finally today 11.2.09 I had the car towed home.
12.2.09 The car is towed to Marks and is undergoing prep for the engine which is being stripped and checked.
13.3.09
Its not frontin lol....
Put on my Ford rocker cover on as it was tidier than the Mazda one. Painted it black and silver, brackets are all painted up on it too looks great. Mounted the gearbox to the engine and...
... Put it in the car! Still have do do wiring and plumbing but should be ready to start over the next 2 days. Painted the engine bay in satin black since it sorta matched the factory paint in there anyway.
Pic on the right is with it all plumbed and wired.
31.3.09. The first start! It runs really well can hardly tell it has 180ks on it.
